Yep. .. that's one of the things that drew me to these/this style of bass. Love the fluidity of the whole bass, and especially the guard.

No I have not picked up the rumble 40 quite yet. I have been using that Vox headphone amp instead for my small practice I'm still using the rumble for at home practice. Here is another SoundCloud clip of running through the troubleshooting steps plus some more I thought of and I think I found the problem I'm not happy about it and it is not with the amp or the cable.

am surprised that the Ursa1 and three are seeming to have a shielding problem. I thought the split coil was a humbucker. It seems that the essex's could benefit from better pickups or shielding. What is even more concerning however his this is the first time I have had any sort of hum coming from either of those instruments ever. I think since this is also the first time I've tried to use this amp since the storm I'm probably getting some sort of electrical interference that's being picked up by these cheap pickups however I've played out with worse power so it is a concern.
Yep, you nailed it down that time @Big Hoss. Not your Rumble. Sounds like you have both a shielding and a grounding issue on your P Ursa, and just shielding on the other.

OMG...take your bass(es) and cable(s) to a GC etc. Plug them in to any amp and if it's clean, take your Rumble in for Repair.

No need I have it sorted out it's not the cables it's not the amps it's the shielding on the bases. My Ibanez in my custom shielded Squier don't do it

the guitar player in my band also loves the rumble sound with his strat. overdrive is also really usable, much more consistent sound while switching bewteen clean and od compared to a fender hotrod deluxe!

I'm six months older than Keith Richards and I'm still gigging. Saturday was a 3 hour practice with one band and a 4 hour gig with another.
So, this past Fender Friday I bought a 1977 Fender Rhodes and put her in my venue. I am refurbishing her right now. The full suitcase.
Rhodes are great. I used to own one in decent condition but after a couple of house moves my back decided to let it go. I miss it a bit but I'm satisfied with a Nord Electro 4D.
Here's my 500C w/the 210 ext cab. Sitting on top is my GenzBenz Streamliner. I can plug both the combo and the Genz into the extension cab and use whichever suits my fancy. The Genz doesn't get much use anymore, but I'm sure it will once the newness wears off on the Rumble. Then again...

I hope you onły ever plug either one into the extension cab at one time, not both.
Why’s that? Slightly different setup, but I’ve got two heads plugged into a pair of cabs at the same time.
When I want to switch heads, I just pull the female end of the power cord out of the back of one amp, and switch it to the other.
I would never have both amps powered in at the same time. Don’t know why, lol, but it seems like it could have negative consequences.
??? Both amp heads have speaker cables connected to the same cab(s) at the same time and you switch by connecting/disconnecting the electrical power cords to the amps???!!! IDK for sure, but there could possibly be negative consequences to having the cab(s) and another (inactive) head connected to the (active) head! Whatever impedence the inactive head shows to the active head might be a problem at some point, don't ya think? Even if it doesn't hurt either amp, at least it seems it would drain some (hopefully minimal) power from the speakers, maybe?
I'd think a safer way to switch would be the speaker cables from head to head, but that's just my way of thinking.
Makes sense to me. The Fender is a 1/4 inch only and the Genz Benz is Speakon only. It's easy enough to reach back and plug one in and unplug the other.

I see people extending their Rumbles with new cabs all the time on this thread. I have a 100, which has an LXR output for PA usage, but not a speaker output. Is it even possible to extend a 100 to an extra cab? I think this is a 4-Ohm setup? Mine's the V3 100 with a 1x12".
I would foresee usually going XLR DI out to the FOH system and still use the 100 for stage presence / monitor.
Anyhow, the 100 is perfect for my size as I pointed out in my earlier post. But just wondered if it was possible to connect to an extra cab, and how you would do that from a 100?
