Fender Rumble Club

There are a few different programs that have a great tone to me. #30 is the SVT rig program. It has a very warm tube sound that is pretty darned close to an SVT. I also like #21 and #22. #21 is a Bassman 300 "Fat" tone, with enhanced lows. #22 is a standard Bassman 300 and also has a pretty nice warm tone also. The other one is the SWR Red Face amp tone. Don't recall the # on that one, but it has some really nice deep tones, and the highs are enhance ed. It sounds great with a pick! Anyway, wondering what other bass programs people like on the Rumble Studio 40 or Stage 800.
This is why I think it would be best to have dedicated Stage & Studio thread. Not a club but a strictly informational thread. I have been teaching myself how to tweak the presets and also how to change or add effects plus adjust them. It ain't easy at first. Presets I love are: #1 Clean Bassman; #11 TV Bassman Clean, #12 TV Bassman Dub (if you reggae, this is your tone puppy), #21 Fat Bassman (of which I am one) ;), #25 Basic Redhead, #33 Motown (nails it). Plus I like the synths and Octobot. There is so much to learn.

I have a Zoom modeling bass pedal that has essentialy become an expensive tuner since I got the Rumble 800. :) My question is...if I run the XLR out of the bass pedal, I won't be getting my tone from my amp, but will instead be getting my tone from the pedal itself, correct? So I would just need to run the XLR from the output on the Rumble 800 to get my tone from the amp going through the PA, right? I actually think it has a pre and post XLR outputs on the back of the Rumble 800. At least that's what I think it is...pre and post. Thanks for the info. I believe I ran the XLR out of the pre output last gig...
The only problem is, I often run into soundmen who refuse to take a a DI out from an amp, or if they do, only want it pre and not post. In those cases, you might have better luck convincing them to let you use the DI out from your zoom, or their DI box after your zoom but before your amp. That's honestly the main thing holding me back from fully converting from my Helix->GK MB800->Fearful (x2) stack to a much simpler Rumble 800+210 stack.

Maybe it's the Basic Redhead that I'm thinking of. It's pretty cool sounding. But I've been using #30 for all of our gigs. Have you played through #30 yet. Try it. I love the tone of that one.

I have created 3 different new programs using the #21 Bassman 300. I added a little more growl to it. I also used #30 SVT and took a little growl out of it, and also used the Redhead and added some growl to it. Haven't used those programs yet during gigs. It's fun screwing around with tones though.

I politely tell the sound guy please try it and let me know and I'll switch it to pre if you need. Or I use my Quilter BB head and he doesn't get a choice. Not once has anyone come back to me with an issue or requested me to switch to pre.

Very cool and the next one is #26 Redhead 4x10 using the famous SWR 410 Goliath. It's Killer. I can't believe what I'm getting out this little 19 pound 1x10 box of lightning. It doesn't have the booty girth of a 15" woofer, but I can plug it into my Rumble 200 combo and "y'all stand back 'cause you might get hurt!" ~ Frank Zappa

That's your basic SVT 'Rockin' Peg', and no I can't stand the ampeg sound. Nope not for me. Hated it in 1970 when I first heard it. Still hate it today. #33 is a variation of the 'Rockin' Peg' called Motown which I think nails that tone, but Motown used an in house designed and hand made pre-amp, so I can use it and enjoy it without the ampeg curse upon my soul.

Well, looks like my scratchy master volume issue is getting replaced with a new amp. That’s cool. But it makes me wonder how much it will cost to fix if it happens after the warranty runs out.
So, did you have to ship it back to Fender for them to take a look at it? My volume pot has been lightly scratchy from the beginning. I only notice it when a note is sustained and I turn the volume knob, and that's at low volumes.

Found an authorized repair shop nearby and brought it to them. They deal with Fender for me.

Just send me a 45
You got it. But be careful, it's almost as loud as a Rumble 500.

I have owned at Rumble 40 V3 for about a year and 1/2 and love it. I have used it in every possible venue from small coffee shop to a large room with 1000 people. Having the XLR out for those bigger gigs have been great!!. When I saw the 40 studio I knew I had to have it. I had planned on trading in my 40v3 for it but found out that my daughter wants to take up bass!! Ya!!! Anyway, I keep it for her.

After reading the threads on here about link 2 rumbles together I tried this with my last gig that I would need it at. So I had my Studio 40 being the main and the 40 v3 being the slave. I have to tell you it worked and sounded great!!! A friend of mine set in for a few songs and was amazed with the sound we were getting out of these amps. I love the fact that I can put these together to get the bigger sound that I would need on stage at some of the gigs I play. I have to say that I love the sounds on the Studio 40 as well. I have used a zoom b1on in the past and liked what I could get out of that, but having everything built in makes my setup and packing time that just much quicker.
Has anybody had much experience with the pedal with either the 40 or 800? Let me know your thoughts.

Welcome to TalkBass and the Fender Rumble Club @Jeremy Jones! Fabulous first post. I see you are enjoying your new Studio 40 as much as I am. I have the pedal, but am new to it and don't use it much. The tuner is a little tricky at first, but you get used to it. It's true advantage is for live work. Build a setlist of presets to switch quickly on the fly, and also to switch effects on/off as needed. I've got much to learn yet. Would you like to see a dedicated thread (not another club) devoted to the Stage 800 and Studio 40?
Welcome and  Rumble On!

Hey, thanks for the reply. I have much to learn as well. I have set up a playlist for each of my basses with the sounds that I like for each. That makes it a lot easier to dial up what is needed. I do like the app on my phone. It is kind of fun to play with. It might be cool to have a new thread for studio and stage users to share thoughts and maybe even some patches that we have created.
