Fender Rumble Club

Plenty of knobs about here

I find the overdrive BLEND factor to be one of THE important things that the Bassmans have over the Rumble amps. I just have the Super Bassman and a Rumble 500C, so can't really comment on the Bassman 500, except for its pre amp being the same.
I personally find the overdrive on the Bassman to be SO easy to dial in.... I use the sweepable mid freq and level in conjunction with the drive, & find HEAPS of versatility and different tones in it, with very few that are unusable.
The Rumble's drive section, to me, isn't as easy or useable... but, I use it regularly too. :eyebrow: So, take that with a grain of salt.
I dunno if other Rumblers can help me/ others to dial in a nice drive on it:help:. I certainly can, but just don't find it quite as simple as the Bassman. YMMV of course :bag:

Excellent point, @rodl2005. I haven't played with the mid freq in quite a while. And didn't even think about using it to blend in the OD. That's a very good point. Should be obvious, really. But that don't mean I'd have thought of it.

;)

It'll allow the overdrive to go from a subtle dirt, to a gnarly grind.
Very handy for me

Well, looks like my scratchy master volume issue is getting replaced with a new amp. That’s cool. But it makes me wonder how much it will cost to fix if it happens after the warranty runs out.
KUDOS Fender!! As far as post warranty repairs, cross that bridge when you come to it. You may never need a repair. I haven't. My 7 year old Rumble 75 is still going strong as is my 4 year old Rumble 200. They will never last as long as the 1950's; '60's, and '70's all tube amps that can continually be repaired & rebuilt (at great expense) as long as components are manufactured.

Just in case people thought I was falling off the rumble cab wagon because I bought the TC K212 cab...

This happened on a whim:
View attachment 885147

Picked up a rumble 112 V2 off the TB classifieds for $200 shipped.
It's in minty shape, and sounds great!

Now I've got a nice portable 112 rig to grab and go to the buddies to jam.

Sits nicely sideways on top of the TC, but I hate that the handle isn't recessed, so the head is wobbly.
So the layout shown is really just for the pic.

So I'll likely just leave it on there horizontally, with the nice magnetic head holders that are built into the 112.
Mocha brown Precision, looks like the one I bought in 1975?Traded it for a 75 Fender Jazz!

@rodl2005 I agree with the blend. I love my 100T for how easy it is to dial in the drive I want. The single my band recently released demonstrates the difference the blend makes, one song is subtle OD and the other song I simply blended more OD. Honestly that's what led me to the bassman 500 and price helped nudge me as well.
Single..... congrats! Got a link?

Have a confession, traded my 200,for a bass body project?? Was able to find another one real reasonable, feel like I stole it? It was well taken care of,couple minor dings. Owner just didn't need it with all the other gear he had in the studio. $180 shipped to my front door. More than pleased, that I got one back.
