No, that is completely false! The Fender Rumble line started as a new 'clean sheet of paper' design engineered by Dave Lewis; Bob Desiderio, and Ija Kothrade. Jay Piccirillo was hired away from Yamaha USA to be the brand manager of the newly created Fender Bass Amplification division, and he was the one to choose the name Rumble. He also chose to put the ever popular 'Disco Lights' in the first Rumble 60 & 100. Read the Rumble Talks.I just heard someone in a video say that the 1st Rumble line was acquired from SWR and Fender just replaced the knobs. I don't know if that's accurate

Fender did buy SWR, but then sh t canned the brand. So, they didn't buy Swr?
Yes, Bill Schultz was bound and determined to acquire SWR, (the same way he bought out sunn O))) which he did do. F.M.I.C. never changed SWR, and they went down the krapper of their own accord. sunn O)) is a different story, but the end was the same. So, they didn't buy Swr?
The truth is there are evil people that absolutely HATE Fender, and will say and do anything in their power to bring down F.M.I.C.Fender certainly agrees with Linn on this point:
What did Fender do with SWR? Were SWR amps "Fenderized"?

But they SOLD like crazy all over the world! Young bass players went wild for the flashing disco lights. They were just so rad and the coolest thing ever. Plus they sounded great, and that's the most important part. And they still do! You see original first generation Rumbles popping up all the time 15 years latter! Solid proof that Rumbles are rugged & reliable. Now I know whom to blame for those things...

So I’m considering the Bassman 800 HD to go with my Rumble 410 cab. So I sent an email to Fender to see what the watts would be with 8 ohms. This is not the answer I was expecting.
No, I would not be either. So I’m considering the Bassman 800 HD to go with my Rumble 410 cab. So I sent an email to Fender to see what the watts would be with 8 ohms. This is not the answer I was expecting.
According to this calculator, it would be 400W Speaker Impedance Changes Amplifier Power - Geoff the Grey GeekNo, I would not be either.
Doing the math on the Rumble V3 200 and 500, around 560W would be more in line for an 800W D amp at 8 ohms.
