Fender Rumble Club

Yes, I ran into that little snag and you do have to upgrade. Most new phones are running android 10, and I thought I was back in the stone age.
I have always been in the stone age

Just an fyi. About the highest level you'll find is 7. 8 is the highest released version and 9 is in beta. There is a developer preview available for 10. I believe you're thinking of IOS.

Long time no TB...still have the Rumble 200, koa Dyna Unity and Kramer Duke. One of my sons is playing blues-rock guitar (think Black Keys) and his instructor learned I can play (ahhhhhahahahahahahahahaha, such a fool!) bass. I was asked to bring it along one of these weeks and play simple lines for the kid. Love the tone and thump of the R200, but that's going to be way overkill.

So, R25? R40? I mean, the R40 is only an inch or so bigger in any dimension, has a 10" speaker and is 15 whole solid-state watts more. Is it really going to be worth the extra $100 if all it ever gets used for is noodling along with the kid and his instructor in a practice room (say, 20'x14')? On the other hand, can that little 8" speaker sound good at all? The Fender G-DEC Exec the kid usually practices on sounds like utter crap (to be fair, I'm comparing to my Fender Vibrolux Reverb), so I'm concerned. Lastly...none in stock anywhere within drivable distance so I'm at the mercy of the experts. :)

Ah, the eternal search and never-ending "but for just a little more..." justification process...<sigh>
The 25 would be perfect for that.

There are a couple of pre sets that are my 'go to' 21 is one of them
But what I have been having fun with is playing along to a 'no bass' track and using an effect that is totally wrong for the song. Most of the time it is just for fun but sometimes you find an effect that brings new life into a song. To me that has been the best part of my studio so far :bassist:
I'm having a blast going through all the presets. Gonna try a love song with 94 Frankensynth or 42 Octobot. Should be fun. .

Been doing a lot of practicing and playing on bass lately.

I was using the Bongo 4 HH with little satisfaction and started using pedals to get closer to the sound I wanted with the Rumble 500C.

I bought a MIM Jazz Fretless here on TB and have been playing it hard since February. I have discovered that without any effects pedal with the 500C -----it is bliss. I can get a wider tonality on the Fender fretless than I can on the fabled Bongo. I finally have gotten enough fretless experience that I have started gigging on it---straight to the 500C. I sometimes use a Hotone reverb/delay mini pedal for solos.

Soon, I will put my Bongo on TB for a trade for another jazz bass. I am sold on the Fender Jazz. Perhaps I need a fretted one.....

Question for any of the Studio 40 or stage 800 users. Have any of you used the playlists the with MGT-4 4-button footswitch? The last 2 gigs I have setup playlists to use on those gigs and it seems like when I go to switch the preset to another preset it kicks me out of the setlist. It is possible that I am pushing something wrong but wanted to get some feedback here. Because of the all the gigs I have been playing Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it I have not had time to play with it at home.

Too many gigs.....is that a thing?;)

Just a heads up for anybody that is thinking about a Rumble Studio amp. The Tone app will not run on a tablet or any device running less than android 6. Also they don't tell you that you cannot download any presets from the Fender site without the Tone app. They instruct you to get a code from tone.fender.com on the amp and in the manual but that function does not exist. They wouldn't accept that any of this is a problem with the amp, website, or documentation. Very disappointing. If anybody knows how to do this let me know.
I was just sent a heads up that there were some issues with tone.fender.com and that they have been addressed. Also on page 59 there are some instructions on how to access Cloud Presets direct from the amp.
"“Cloud Presets” is a MENU utility button function (see page 33) that gives the user access to an entire world of presets other than those already found in the amp, including featured presets, artist presets and more. Through the amplifier’s WiFi connectivity, users can preview, play, download and share a wealth of cloud stored Fender presets that enormously expand Rumble Studio 40/Stage 800’s creative possibilities."

Yeah you are going to have to work with it some more.
I read through creating Setlists on page 34. Footswitch options on page 49. I've not even attempted to create a setlist. You've just got to get in there and dig.

Thanks! Apparently my call and email to Fender resulted in them fixing the missing function on the website. I was able to connect from the amp after getting the code from the website now. Not sure why you got a heads up and I didn't but I got mine from you right? :hyper:
Bad news is now I have even move presets to play with. When am I ever gonna get work done? :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

Hey Rumblers. This new song features me on my P Bass and my Fender Rumble 500! This is my debut on guitar as well.

Enjoy, Michael B

Watched your video on Youtube. Nice playing and very nice vintage P bass tone. More proof that RUMBLES ROCK! I'm hoping to do some recording by the end of the year. Can't wait to get my 500c in studio.I've never never recorded direct from an amp so really looking forward hearing the Rumble can do.

I believe there is cab emulation on the direct out. It sounds great to me. I suggest you record at least 2 but ideally 3 signals: direct box no amp, amp via a mic (I use a 57) and the direct out on the Rumble. Have fun with it.

I have a 200 Combo and am looking at adding either a 1-15 or a 2-10 Rumble Cab in order to get the 200 watt output. I prefer the Vintage setting on the Combo for the '60 Soul music I play and have read about the advantages of the "coupling effect" of 2-15's, although I don't know how important that is for what I want to achieve.

Considering this, what do you people recommend or, does it matter?

They both work. I prefer adding a 15" to the 200.
