Fender Rumble Club

Some sad news from the Fender Forums. brotherdave has succumbed to cancer and is gone. A bass player that was as close to a walking encyclopedia on everything to do with Fender basses & amps. He was a year older than I. Life toward the end is tenuous and fleeting at best.

Yes. Again, not loud. And surely not Dinah-Moe Humm!
OK, well there is a huge difference between AC 60 cycle hum, and the soft whir of a small computer type box fan. Turn on an AM radio and tune it between stations so there is a lot of static. Now turn it up loud. That is close to AC 60 cycle hum. Tube amps really hummed all the time, and even worse when the grounding was poor. Sometimes it was as loud as a harmonica being blown by an enthusiastic five year old boy.
