Fender Rumble Club

"money down the tubes" is an old saying same as "money down the drain" the tubes being sewage pipes.
I've never heard it phrased "down the tubes" but I get what you mean.

Bummer though. Wasnt sure if this amp had an issue others on here came across and easily fixed. Talked with the owner and he said he actually only played it once. Next time he went to turn the amp on it was dead

Just take it one step at a time. Get their set list, learn the songs and practice with them and your Studio 40. If all goes well, your future gigs will help pay for what else you need. You may even be able to play through their PA or FOH.
Well I did it. Had a long conversation with them about what they were looking for, what they planned, why their last bass player left. He's sending me their song list for me to learn 3 or 4 songs and we've scheduled to play together. I asked for a couple weeks to learn the songs and he had no issues with it. Dang! This is exciting.

I'm hoping this is the right place to try but I'm looking at getting a rumble and someone near me is selling a rumble 200 for $120 and it doesnt work. Turns on theres a loud pop and no sound. Is it worth buying to fix? I know next to nothing about amp repair or is it worth it? Anyone experience this issue? Dude said he bought it no warranty and it died pretty fast and has sat for 2 years. It's the v3 rumble series
Not worth it. Add repair cost and it could be more than a new one. I say buy a new one and get the warranty.

The thing of it is, that it would make a killer matching extension cabinet for either the Rumble 200 or 500 combos. Pull the old amp out. Salvage usable parts. Slap some black paint on the bare plywood. Drill a hole in the back of the cabinet. Instal a 1/4" phonejack. Wire direct to the 15" woofer and Viola!

PS - You just have to be completely sure that the driver is totally good first before you waste your time and money. With all that signal surging and popping and whatnot going on, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it were toast.

viola indeed!

I'm quoting this post from The Combo Club on behalf of our brother Rumbler @Devon Bustard, who may have confused that club and this since they are both quite lively. :D

There might be a few more Rumble Stage 800 owners here than there.

It might be because I can only dial in tones for country and jazz, but I can’t seem to get a nice Mike Dirnt tone now. I’ve tried, oh I’ve tried. I have a p bass, roundwounds, and a Stage 800. He has a tone I wish to put into a preset for those days I decide to play nothing but green day. Any help would be nice.

Any Stage or Studio owners here that can help Mr. Bustard?

This video Shows his actual setup. I would try dialing that in as close as possible and see what it sounds like. I am going to give it a shot on my Studio 40 as well.

Yeah Baby! 7-7-7 on the classic channel. That's exactly the very same settings I used on my Studio Bass amp (and Bassman 100 too) many years ago. Looks like he has both Deep & Bright pulled too.

I thought Mike Dirnt and Duff McKagan and others were supposed to construct their own presets to be made available on the Fender Tone App. I guess it all takes time to delve into this new digital front end.

Meanwhile, would you have a Studio 40 setup to suggest that @Devon Bustard could use on his Stage 800?

Easy as pie! Just go to a blank preset and choose the Super Bassman for the amp and set the tone controls at 7-7-7 (that's about 2 o'clock or so). Then you are going to have experiment with the gain; channel volume, and master volume. And make your cabinet choice. You'll also have to experiment with deep & bright switches to your liking. Nothing to it. Just dive right in there and do it.

While not a Rumble, I ordered a Bassman 115 Neo yesterday - it'll serve part time duty between being paired up with my Rumble 200 Combo at times, and with my Super Twin at others... I've wanted one of those cabs for a while now...
I'm using two of them and a Bassman 500 for my larger gigs these days. Love 'em

Congratulations, @mesaplayer83. I bought my Bassman 115 neo before my Rumble 500 and found that they work great together. I have no doubt you'll find the same. Happy Rumbling!
