Huh, who would’ve thought that today was Leo fenders birthday and I so happened to stop by at Sam Ash yesterday with my GK MBF 800 and was BLOWN AWAY when I paired my head with a fender rumble 1x15 cabinet.

Tell me this isn’t a sign or some crazy universe trying to sell me something!

Well, did you buy it or not? If not, why?

Sorry, but it is.

Would I be out of line if I mentioned it was Fender Friday (and NBD)?

Classic Series '60s Jazz - MIM '17 model as an open-box 'deal'. :hyper:

Would I be out of line if I said I liked the case more then the bass? lol I do really like the bass too but those flashy oldschool cases give me some serious GAS.

Congrats! Few basses play as good as a well setup Jazz IMO.

Thanks guys! It definitely ticked all my "GAS" checkboxes.

The clincher was "case included" AND that it was reduced in price by 36%!

Now, this weekend I will have to say that my v3-200 combo will be getting a great deal of 'exercise'. :bassist:

And you won't get as much since it's not a "fridge"

Of all the days to get a surprise gift... happy Fender Friday to me.

Just thought you guys might find it as interesting as I that I got a random gift on a Friday, that just so happens to also be, or would have been Leo Fender's birthday. Now I can wear a Fender while I play a Fender through a Fender. :roflmao:

Aloha, @BBassBassington, sir! From wence cometh this random Fender Friday gift?

Or could it be the same anonymous beneFactor that bestoweth greatness upon Sir @Linnin a few months ago? Or should we not look gift horses in the mouth?

Thank You Anonymous Giver of Fender Rumble Studio 40 Greatness. I am completely & totally flabbergasted by your extreme generosity. I cannot thank you enough.

It came from my Mother in exchange for cleaning and upgrading her PC. Her boyfriend saw it when they were in America yesterday and said we need to get this for him.

That said if Fender wants to start sending me free stuff I'm not stopping them.:roflmao: Lucky for them they don't have to bribe me to use their stuff. As much as I try not to be a fanboy (and I've played plenty of Fenders I didn't like) I just don't meld with other instruments.

Take my SR300E for example. I've had it a year now. I like it best when it sounds close to a P bass and generally don't care for it regardless of strings/setup. But despite being 2 lbs lighter then my P5, with a neck that's half as tall I can play the P5 for 3 hours and just hurt for a little while. The SR I played at the last jam and for days I couldn't put a bass on that shoulder. Turns out the SR body is too small so my natural playing position has the bass sitting in the perfect spot to essentially try to push my arm out of socket. And yes the Ibanez (for the third time) is up for sale, and this time I don't care if I get like a quarter of what I paid for it. Like my Stingray of old a bass that puts me out of commission for days is worthless.

Which is another thing. Buy a Fender/Squier and sell it locally where I live, it takes a few days and you'll get 60-110% of new price. Buy anything else and you struggle to recoup a third of it's new price.
