Gone Plaid have you ever played a Rick 4003? I was wondering how it would differ tone wise from a T Bird

I used to want a Ric but after discovering TBirds, I'm happy with what I have. I played keyboard in a group in '70. That bassist had a Ric but I have no idea what model. I messed around with it a little but on the one number I played bass, I used my EB3.

Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club @BassBeginer64! I can see the Beta 12AII in the Rumble 75, but what makes you think it is $65 better sounding than the carefully custom designed Eminence that is already in your Rumble 100?

Ya know, I was tempted to ask something similar. If ya just wanna tinker, fine; but don't throw the stock speaker out. You may find yourself re-installing it. The one in my R112 is a(good)beast. Let us know if it's a $65 "improvement".

Hey, All. Should be back in soon. Having been bassless for the past couple years due to a variety of circumstances, I picked up an El Cheapo bass yesterday and my Lady plans to get me an amp for my 50th next month.

Not currently gigging, but you never know. Probably go with either a Rumble 40 or the 100.

It is not only allowed, but recommended, that you get both. to quote @Linnin, "Mo Rumble is Mo Betta"
The 40 is a great home practice amp, but may be a bit underpowered for anything but a very small venue, particularly if you have a drummer. The 100 is pretty powerful and will do for medium sized venues if your band is not too loud. I have used my 100 as a stage monitor for large gigs that had good FOH support and used the XLR out to run to the board.

Question? Are any of you using an amp stand with your Rumble 500 Combo? I need something to elevate and tip back ? Curious about the effect on the sound and if you like it this way? I play a fair amount of shows that require a low volume on stage and just curious what everyone was using?

I've been using a stand made by Gator called Frameworks. It gets my 500c off the stage floor by about a foot plus the angle is adjustable. All in all a pretty nice stand. I do find you lose a little bottom end using a stand, but the trade off of hearing yourself better is definitely woth it. Nothing a little EQ can't fix.

Mud Stand has a well engineered isolation/decoupling unit specifically designed for Rumble 200 & 500 combos and is also perfect for Stage 800. Mud Stand for Bass Amps

I have 2 I alternate depending on the stage(flat or raised). The 1st one has the "original" name "Amp Stand": I dunno the 2nd one: As you can see, they both fold up.

Musicians Gear Deluxe amp stand, $19.99 for my R500c or B-DEC. Very sturdy. Adjustable height. Effect on sound? Sometimes less low end, easily compensated. Other times less boom, which is the desired compensation. I think it's a bargain at twice the price!

Oh yeah tons. Keith Richard's tech made some ultra cool amp stands that also act as scoops to capture the sound out of his vintage open back Fender Tweed Twins and throw it out front. They have castors too. Anyone can do it.

Ah, yes! The Sound Enhancer amp stand for open back combos sends the sound from the back out front! Really does a great job, too! But I've never seen one with casters on it.
