Fender Rumble Club

Used the 100 I bought yesterday at trad. country band rehearsal tonight. Granted, it was only fourth-sixths of the band -- male singer/acoustic guitar player, female singer, drummer and me. But the amp did really great. Surprisingly loud and punchy. Excellent tone.

The true test will come next rehearsal, when the electric guitar player and keyboard player are present. But, wow, was super impressed tonight. As were my band mates. They were surprised by the big sound relative to such a small package and blown away by the light weight.

Used my Rumble 100 last night for a fairly small room. It carried the room as the soundman only needed to put some of my highs into the house system. Great little amp. Thinking about just adding a second one for a Rumble 100 Stack o' Doom.
A pair would make for a cool stereo mini-rig if you're into modulation effects. I got all sorts of crazy ideas after seeing a picture of Richard Bona running two amps a few feet apart.

Not so sure about the cost-effectiveness of running a mini stack, though. I went into the store with the intention of buying a Rumble 40 to use as a practice amp, and ended up walking out with the 100.

The fiendish minds at Fender have priced the V3 series so that the easiest solution to any lack of volume, is to simply move up a model. It reminds me of Apple's pricing ladder with the iPad- "for just a hundred more, you can get all this! ...and for just a hundred more..."

Good point...I do use a Zoom B3 for a tuner and graphic eq when switching to upright, so I could run a stereo rig. I wish the 500 combo worked for me...that would have solved everything. I might also just get a 500 head and either the 410 or 115 cab. The voicing of the Rumble series sits right in the mix so well. It easily gives you a pro-bass tone right off the rip.
