Not only that, but the 610 is a 4 ohm cab affording you the full 500 watts of the Rumble 500 head. Plus those custom Eminence Neos sound soooooo freakin' fabulous! But for $900 you could also have a Rumble 500 combo + 410 cab.![]()
That's an interesting price perspective on the Rumble line's value, and the smaller combos I've tried at the store sound great. I'm over the 410 lift/schlep, though, and the 610 just seems more maneuverable. The pro neo's are definitely pocketbook-denting and would be the most I've ever spent on a piece of gear. To have the right cab for any situation, though...
I've been chasing the modular thing for a while in my bigger rig, and while it's great in theory, I end up fretting about whether to bring one or two cabs every time. Just this past weekend I got burned bringing only one cab for a small private party that ended up having a bad room for acoustics. I sometimes get by with just one of the little Ampeg 210s, so the 610 would be overkill for pretty much every gig. However, I have been in plenty of situations where having more speakers that are higher up would help carry the room better without pushing the amp (like that private party). Counter-intuitive, especially to everyone who sees a giant cabinet being set up, but it actually lets you keep the volume down sometimes.
WOOT!
