Fender Rumble Club

. . . . I am surprised at the clean punchy volume it produces, even with the unplanned "port" where the horn should go. I saw mention of it, but it did have a little power compression at upper levels on the attack, although it was not unpleasant.

Here's an explanation of the Delta-Comp Limiter that puts that compression at upper levels, yet another "Rumble Talk" linked in that section of the Rumble Club Wiki Page.

Oh, do I get a number now??? :)

@Gravedigger Dav issues the Club numbers here but, he's been MIA the past few weeks. Maybe just a couple more weeks of "vacation" and he'll be back in the saddle, all rested and ready to go! ;)

Hey, @BasSWhite, I was just going over your missing tweeter issue and @G-Dog 's links to potential issues. Since this combo was "mis-handled" (pun intended), I would want to know where the wiring for the tweeter is, before turning on the tweeter switch. Also, your combo now has a third "port". I would want to replace the tweeter or cover the hole before pushing it. Also, if the C500 came from the same previous owner, I would want to make sure he didn't perform any of his magic on it ;).

Hmm, I did push it briefly (with the third port) and didn't even think to check the horn switch. I figured "the horn ain't there, the switch don't matter". I look now and the switch is "On". I'm glad the horn wires were not dangling and making contact inside. Well, nothing blew up, so I assume they were not touching.

I have a replacement horn ordered already, should be here by Dec 1 (and handle by Dec 4). I'm going to have to find something to cover the hole temporarily while I check it out at a rehearsal tonight (one of my practice amps is there already to compare to - a Hartke ha500 sitting on an old Peavey 2x15). I already know tone is better, but volume will not quite match - but I want to see how close it gets :) May have to resort to duct tape. Yes, I have goo gone ready at the mere mention of duct tape, heh heh.

(The Hartke is nice, but there's just something I can't tweak out of it around the low-mid range on any cab I plug it into - maybe around 100-150 Hz. I don't notice it until about the third time I use it on any cab. Not muddy, not boomy, some sort of weird mush not quite all the way to the bottom. Used it for many years as a main stage amp, but now its bugging me)

I don't know if the 500 was owned by the same person as the 200, or if it is complete coincidence that they were in the pawn shop together. I've checked out the 500, opened cover (horn there) and played a guitar through it to verify all knobs and buttons work as expected. It is in very good condition, and could have come off a GC floor. No tolex issues, grill is nice. Like new.

Wait - I said off a GC floor - I meant appearance, not functional aspects... Okay... no, maybe a box from the back of GC.. uh... hmm, not a GC at all, but received new from an online order. Yeah, that's it. That's what I meant to say, newly ordered.

When you consider the deal you got, two combos for the price of one, plus your future options, you are well on your way! Congrats and keep us posted :).

A standard handle (black strap with chrome ends) would be fine on the top and/or side. You only need one as it could still be a one-handed pickup. If by "a couple new ones on the side", you meant the recessed ones that come with the 1-15 cab, I don't think you want to do that. That's a lot of cab cutting and added weight.

The knob colors would be very "patriotic" ;). But, then again, so is your hat :).
Yeah, I Definitely mean a single standard handle on one side. I carry my R112 by one recessed side handle. It's easier than carrying it by both-and tripping over something.<Addendum>I like these knobs (ignore doormat) Got them offa ebay or Amazon (one of those) 1127181644-00.jpg 1020181046-00.jpg 1020181039-00.jpg On R40 and 200c

Note that on the 200 combo, the horn switch is not ON/OFF, it's ON/-6dB. That makes me think that the tweeter is ALWAYS getting signal.

On the 115 cab, there are 3 switch settings, ON/-6dB/OFF.

Good place to start: both ON for guitars, and both -6dB for bass.

Am I missing something?

Some time ago I was complaining about sticky knobs and asking if anyone else had them. Here's a vid i took of them before i tossed them.:

And here's a pic of how it turned out after knob replacement. I like!

Care to pass on a link for those knobs? What are the shaft sizes - 1/4"?
