Best thing that ever happened to my playing was joining a jazz combo. My only problem is that a lot of my fills and runs sound a little jazzy, so I have to learn more rock orientated bass soon.mostly classic rock and original metal stuff, but i've been playing around with jazz lately.. it's very challenging to say the least, a real eye opener... pretty cool to throw those complicated scales into rock![]()
OOPS![sounds like sumpin' I'd do]I just spent 20 minutes trying to fix my tone before realizing my tweeter was on![]()
Martin Mull once said (on the Mike Douglas show) 'If God hadn't meant for us to play loud, He wouldn't have given us amps!'. I lived by that theory for years.rumble 500 runs the top 2 cabs and a peavey minimax 500 runs the bottom 2, i feed em with a ltd 6 string .. it's plenty loud that's for sure, but i really don't need all that wattage... i just like it![]()

67, wow.. true classic. i started playing bass around 72ish. at that age the only tbird i ever heard was my next door neighbors car. i knew nothing about basses except "Paul" had a cool one. i started out with an old short scale fender knock off, hell, i didn't even know there was a short and long scale! but then again...we didn't have youtube.Thanks. Welcome Rumbler #1009! Looks like you have done your research. Nice rig. But, have you ordered your Fender Precision yet? Rumble On!Here's mine. 500c/210 cab. I just finished reading this whole thread (started this summer), and from this club and TB I built up this rig, amp - bass x2 - even the strings (ghs pressurewounds) and wireless (g30) I love the sound of this amp, especially with the 210 cab. Can I get a number please? @Gravedigger Dav

Fender Rumble 40 (and two Hofner Club basses) on their way to a gig last night via cargo bike. Rumble 40 worked great for the event. I DI'd through the PA and used it as a monitor. The ability to load my gear on a cargo bike opens up a whole new world for me.
Vice grips worked.![]()
That would have worked quite well, I'll do that next time. Thanks.Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I assume you wrecked the knobs getting them off with vice-grips.
Next time loop a shoestring under it & then you'll have two ends to pull it straight off.
I got them off eBay. Nothing special they were just the cheapest I found that would do the trick. They're ever so slightly smaller in diameter and about 5mm shorter though. They look like they were meant to be there, but the stock knobs feel better.Where did you buy the red knobs. Thanks
