I consider that Bassman 500 a Rumble. It has is basically a Rumble 500 with a better front end in a vintage style box. I use it and 2 1x15 neo cabs as my "big rig".I have a Bassman 500 head (basically like a fancy Rumble 500 head) and I'm loving the Bassman 115 neo cab with it, although I've seen a lot of BM500s with one or two Rumble 115 cabs, too.
I've also used my Rumble 500 combo with the Bassman 115 neo cab on a few occasions, to truly awesome effect! But, I believe, most Rumblers prefer the Rumble cabs, where there are no bad choices.
Cool! I'll try to catch you.I played at Terra Formata in Stuart two weekends ago. Playing at Rockin Riverwalk on January 13th with JL Fulks
Adding the 2x10 cab will not give you a lot of extra volume, but it will fill out the sound nicely. Do not judge your sound by a phone recording. They always suck. The Rumble sounds great, but it can be hard from the stage in a live setting to know what is getting to the FOH.
Yeah. I gotta do the same if I use the 112 under the 200c. Right now all of our gigs, the 112 stays home. The 200c barely gets a workout. And we don't go FOH. Our one outdoor venue-which had FOH-was eliminated by the communityI found adding the 2x10 gives you allot more extra volume. Not only are you bumping the amp power from 350W to 500W, you are moving more air. I dramatically back off with the master volume when using the stack.
Yes, there is more volume, but it isn't like 2x the one cab volume. It that you are pushing more air gives you the feeling of a full sound with more volume.I found adding the 2x10 gives you allot more extra volume. With the Rumble, you don't need the compressor. The Rumble has its own built in compression. Rumble ON!.
Play through the amp for awhile and see if you need it-or buy the pedal somewhere you can return it.So a compressor pedal is NOT necessary at all ?!! I read it was probably the most 'crucial pedal' and am looking out for a MXR M87.....
My only cab at the moment is an Eden 210XLT. Haven’t tried it with the rumble 500 yet, but I did audition the head through a Rumble 115 cab and was pretty impressed. It really is a shame they ditched the 112’s.

I've never used one so IDK. The only pedal I use is an EHX Micro POG, octave up for bass and guitar unison effect.my Fender jazz is a bit boomy on E string frets 7 to 12....would a compressor pedal help with this?
Who let him in? He isn't even a member.

I, personally, would prefer you spend your time knocking Rumbles and praising other gear somewhere else. When you say others are snarky and condescending, I think you are projecting.

While I agree with most of what you’re saying here, I think you are wasting your time and breath. It’s been my experience that the rules don’t apply to “Linn the Messiah” around here. In fact YOU will get blasted for not quietly taking his crap with a smile and a “thank you sir, may I have another” attitude. Just ignore him and focus on the good information and resources. Even the more reasonable and level headed posters here have a soft spot for him and sometimes feel the need to land on swords for him when he acts like a jerk. Comes with the territory...HOLD UP! LOL....to WHOM are you referring? Because I am a member of this club, Dav...but since when does anyone HAVE to be a member of this club to participate in this thread? Really? Is there some password and secret handshake? If you feel THAT I WAS the one being snarky, so be it Buddy. I have called Linnin out several times when he is rude and patronizing to others in this thread and in others. Usually I just sit by and watch him throw dung at everyone but there are times when I can't stand it anymore...and I am certainly not the only member who grows tired of it and has complained about it
Oh, did I hurt your feelings by standing up for gear that's NOT Fender? Last I checked, we are allowed to discuss other gear in this thread, are we not? Yes, we are. I will put praise where praise is due, and furthermore I would not have been discussing other gear if Linnin had not made a point to run-down the other brands, as he always does.
Also, where was I "knocking Rumbles"? I have never ran-down any Rumbles or Fender gear, Sir. In fact, I am always full of praise for Fender amps.
Lastly, I was in no way being condescending to him or anyone else, unlike Linnin who takes great pride in running others down...be clear on that. I do think it's hilarious that you think I was projecting...you are free to kiss his feet if you want. I appreciate his Fender knowledge and enjoy his stories, but I do not suffer bullies and braggarts!
And one last thing, this is not YOUR playground, Dav
My theory is that someone left a Rumble 500 head alone overnight in the closet with a Bassman 100T. ICE power unit with 212AX7 pre amp tubes...'splane that to daddy!I consider that Bassman 500 a Rumble. It has is basically a Rumble 500 with a better front end in a vintage style box. Not infantile. Rather intelligent. I've worked on my playing, learned better timing & when I want to come in & out as well as learned a friend's live album via that auxjack which I found on my Rumble Hunnerd.I hope I don't sound too infantile, but I'm really enjoying having an amp with an aux in and headphone jack - man is it easy to jam along with songs and hone ones chops! No one home? Rattle the windows. Someone is home? Headphones!
