Fender Rumble Club

Ahem...I'll just leave this here:

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

And I quote:

"FENDER BASS AMPLIFICATION
Bassman® Hybrid 500
Rumble™ 112 Cabinet
Rumble 210 Cabinet"

This may just be the year I go Rumble :)
I'd better get my credit card warmed up! I already have some Rumble gear (and I'm in the club) but you can never have too much! If the 210 cabinet is a match with the 500 combo, I'm in. It's never been better for bass players!

Hmmm. 500 Hybrid?

I wonder if that's a three-tube preamp with the same controls as the SS version, kind of like the G-K MBFusion. I would definitely take a look at that...
My guess is since it is called a Bassman that it has the the Bassman 100t/Super tube front end coupled to a 500 watt D-class power amp. Lighter & More Powerful. Should be a little less expensive too.

Fortunately the size matters first for the sound quality and second for the looks.;)

I agree. I would suspect they could design it to fit neatly under a Rumble 500 combo with the right dimensions for best sound... they are pretty smart that way...

Can I join ? Purchased the 59´Bassman a year ago but while great for low volume gigs, it lost all the low end outdoors due to the open back cab. The Rumble 200 is almost a perfect match. I´m splitting the signal between both amps; tube warmth and compression for mids and highs and the quick tight bass of the Rumble for the lowend. I can get loud and deep and still carry my whole rig in one trip!

Gentlemen, Fender is ready to play 'catch' with you wallets! :roflmao:

Yes! I'm gonna snatch ones of those suckers up! Snatch it up I tells ya!
I'm hoping there isn't gonna be a crazy wait time to get these 2x10 cabs. I know there is a wait time just to get most Rumble stuff, because it's selling so fast. Wonder if pre-ordering is possible. So when they hit the shelves, you can just go and snatch one up.

So I liked my V3 500 combo so much I bought a 500 head. $320, couldn't resist. Comes with a great little gig bag; head weighs nothing, but feels a little on the cheap side. Bigger (wider) than you might expect, so you might need that bag. But I have a problem - brand new out of the box, the knobs are discolored. Looks like they were laying on dirt. anyone experienced that? <SNIP> But in the meantime, if anyone has experienced those dirty knobs, let me know!

My 500 head also has the discolored knobs, but it doesn't bother me. I even kind of like it, reliced knobs. Does that seem strange?

Hmmmm... only you and bdplaid have reported the discolored knobs. Better put in a call to Fender about it.

The knobs on my brand new Rumble 500 head also have this discoloration on the knobs. I more or less figured it was intentional as a "relic" look.

I fired up my Rumble 500 head for the first time yesterday. It had sat in the unopened box since Christmas Eve!

In the first couple minutes, I had some strange warble to the sound, almost like chorus, and a bit of static-y noise and weak output. It went away after a couple minutes (and during those minutes I jiggled cables and checked connections and such), so it almost seemed like it needed to "warm up" which doesn't make much sense to me. I'll have to try to recreate the issue, and swap around cabs and cables and basses to confirm.

Found a dealer that appears to be taking pre-orders on the Hybrid head. Assuming that it's legit, they must have gotten some advanced info from Fender on it. 17lb, blackface-style headcase 22.5" wide, 2 12AX7's, 500 watts class D power stage, $800 street:

With only two tubes, it must be a simple Fender tone stack, like an old Bassman. There's also a "modern" channel with active EQ. Still 3-band, but with variable mid frequency and an OD circuit, indicating that there's some SS circuitry in it at preamp level.

Odd that the head case is so large- with only 2 tubes and a class D output stage, there should be lots of room to store your lunch. I guess they wanted it to be a good visual match for the rest of the Bassman range.

I've personally never been fond of the Fender tone stack for bass, but if it's well implemented, there are tons of people who like that setup. This ought to be an excellent addition to the Fender lineup.

Call Fender. That would concern me... There is as with any manufactured item, there is a possibility of a manufacturing flaw...

Thanks, I'll probably do that. Although I might be more inclined to ask the retailer to exchange it for another one while it's still eligible for return. Hmm...

I do want to fully troubleshoot to ensure it wasn't an issue with my (also new-to-me) speaker cabinet. I was changing too many variables at once!

I have had a v2 Rumble 350 head and 410 cab for a few years. This is an awesome set up but decided to purchase a 500 2x10 v3 combo. Wow it is all around bad ass love the tone. Let me know your settings I'm currently running flat with the vintage and bright on. Can I have a number
