Fender Rumble Club

Knowing a bit about volume manufacturing, I would guess those knobs are injection molded in a gang mold which is probably heated to facilitate the curing process. The heating element would likely have a single small connection to each cavity in the mold, which, being metal, would conduct the mild heat efficiently to the rest of the part. If the temp control on the heater got bumped a few degrees, they might have produced a few thousand parts before someone noticed knobs getting cooked and adjusted the temp.

Also knowing a bit about offshore manufacturing, my guess is that the employees don't know what, exactly, they are making, nor do they know about the market for which they are producing. Unless a savvy supervisor catches the flaw, the workers could simply reason: "It fits and the shaft and it turns. Next."

I would fully expect that as soon as the discolored knobs were reported, a blown-up picture of the bad knobs was pinned above the assembly station with "Do Not Use!!" written in Indonesian.

P.S. My knobs are the envy of all who behold them! :hyper:

As much as I love good knob talk, I just want to thank Fender for the new 210 cab to go with my 115! Already placed heads up to my dealer to buy on sight as soon as it's available. Hope it's horizontal speaker orientation but I can always move rubber feet and logo.

My hope is that it would be able to orient both horizontally AND vertically. I'm very interested in the 1x12 myself.

Rather than multi-quote all the knobs discussion...
I just got off the phone with Justin at Fender customer relations and he confirmed that the knobs are NOT intended to be "relic'ed". He said they could provide replacement knobs, but since I have the second concern with my brand new amp, he agreed that having Musician's Friend exchange it would be the right move.

I'm very much interested in the new 2x10 cab. I have a Fender 100t, and have been planing to buy the matching 4x10 cab, but two 2x10's might work better for the small stages my band plays. Waiting to see the specks on the 2x10 before I pull the trigger.
NAMM is just a week away, so we'll find out for sure then. I don't see any reason why the Eminence woofers or tweeter would differ from what is already in the Rumble 500 combo. Fender doesn't release specifications on their speakers anyway other than wattage capacity ratings. You could always take your head & bass to a store that has a Rumble 410 in stock, and that will give you a very close idea to the tone and sound quality you can expect. It would be interesting to A/B Rumble 410 with the Bassman Pro Neo 410.

Oh yeah Linnin, that would be a fun comparison. Unfortunately, none of the retailers up here in Canada stock the neo 4x10, so it would be a special order. I am very interested to see though if, like others have mentioned, the 2x10 can be stacked vertically. I'd either stack two like that, or maybe have one one each side of the stage. Either way, I'm happy that Fender listened to the requests for a 2x10. Between the Rumble and Bassman Pro series, this must be the golden era of Fender bass amplification .

The most important for me with the new cabs,is that you can have all the 500w from the combo with the 1x10s,or for the head with 2x12s.Same with the 200w head and combos. The most powerful and light the same time is the 500w combo with 1 2x10.And cheaper also, watt to dollar.

I would think for me anyway, assuming the 210 cab is going to be 8 ohm, which I assume it is to work with the Rumble 200 and 500 combos and heads, would be a sweet spot. Weight should be just around 32 lbs assuming 4.6 lbs for the weight addition of the built in head to make the 2x10 500 combo,

I have to assume that I am far from the only Rumble 500 V3 combo owner that has wished for a lightweight matching 210 cab...

Alex, I can see no reason why they wouldn't be able to be vertically stacked. In fact one of the quickest & easiest ways to make a Rumble 210 cab is to simply use the existing basic box and 2x10 baffle board for the Rumble 500 combo with a few design modifications. In seven more days we'll know.

I am definitely inclined to agree with you. The Fender Rumbles are most definitely the best solid state bass amps Fender has ever made. The Fender Bassman 100t is better than the old silver-faced Bassman 100 I played for so many years. The Super Bassman is, well, SUPER! It's a great time to be a Fender Bassman ;)

Aggggghhhhh! I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! This is torture waiting to get the final specifics on the new cabs!
Last year it was even worse. Waiting for the much anticipated new Rumble line which was just a rumor until either zzounds or AMS put up the entire line on their website for pre-order a few weeks before the official introduction at NAMM. Rumbles have been selling hand-over-fist ever since. Flying off the shelves just as soon as they arrive. Demand for the 500 is especially strong. I expect equally strong demand for the new Rumble 210 cabinet.

Yeah, my Rumble, well it was ordered for me by my wife apparently before I knew I wanted a Rumble... If you recall my threads looking at different lightweight good sounding amps... She noticed me drooling over the Rumble 500 combo at Danny D's, and apparently got together with her brother and ordered one, only to have it show up after Christmas... due to backorder...

The day mine came in I was checking all the sites, the 500 combo was back ordered everywhere I saw except Musiciansfriend.com had them...
