Got a Rumble 40 for my living room. I love the tone and it is a totally burrito little practice amp. I have even used though the house on a gig without a drummer.
Love the light weight and vintage tone.

Thanks Linnin. It took me a while to decide. I was debating if I should get a 500 for gigging and bring my other gigging amp in my practice space or just get a little practice amp for my living room. The little 40 get a lot of use.
I still my get a 500 those amps are super burrito with guacamole.

I think I'm the first guy to complain about the discolored knobs. My 500 head had them, and a replacement that Sam Ash offered me had them too. Fender stepped up and replaced the knobs, they were perfect. Then I put the amp in its little bag and it sat for awhile... and the discoloration is back.
Therefore, the problem is with the bag - the dye is somehow interacting with the plastic in the knob. I'd say rubbing off, but the discoloration won't wipe off.
So there, problem identified, but not actually solved.

But what's this I hear about new Rumble gear and a 2x10 cab? God, did you hear me at last?

That's discouraging. My (2nd) Rumble 500 is scheduled for delivery on Monday. (The retailer was not excited to exchange it, and even gave me a hard time about the price I got, saying it was too low and I made me prove they'd offered it in the first place!) I'm very curious about how the next one looks.

solution would be to not use the bag. although it is a damned nice bag.

Maybe put packing tape on the inside of the bag where the knobs are? I dunno, I'm gonna live with it.

Hmm.. the "free" (ok, included) bag is one of the many reasons these heads are such a great value!

Interesting about the bag, but that would explain why I don't see the problem with my combo.

I suspect the problem is twofold. Firstly the bags aren't fully colorfast with the dye that is being used, and over time, however short or long, the color leeches out and into the knobs. Secondly the knobs themselves must be somewhat porous for the dye or whatever contaminant is in the bag to leech into the knob in the first place. This isn't all that uncommon particularly with "relic" or pre antiqued colored plastic knobs. We pay a price for that almond / bone colored knob...

Fender should look into the materials supplier for the bags and have that fabric tested. This could get costly for them if they don't catch it and get it fixed soon...

Hi all. New to this forum and to the bass gear world.

I bought myself a used Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 head for Christmas. What do you think about pairing it with a Fender Rumble 1x15 Cabinet v3? I have just enough in gift cards to grab it off of amazon and can't spend more than it's current price ($299). Thanks!

you might want to wait until after NAMM. I think Fender will be releasing a new 2x10 cab, which for my money is better than the 1x15. And I'm a 15 guy! (my fave cab is a GK 115-III.)
I bought my Rumble 500 almost solely on the strength of the sound of the cab. And as I have gigged with it exclusively since I bought it, I know they can really take it, too.
Also, I think that price for the 115 is the standard price anyway, so you're not getting a special "deal." If you want a better price, go into Sam Ash or GC and jawbone with the manager. That's the best way, and you can usually get 15% off like that. .

Ah, I meant that I have about $300 in amazon gift cards from X-mas, so I can't go over unless I bring out my credit card. Since I'll now be waiting until sometime after NAMM, I should be able to fit a bit extra into my budget. Unfortunately, no music stores where I live so, I'm stuck getting gear online. Thanks!
