Fender Rumble Club

Hey guys / gals,
new member here to Talk bass... I just ordered a Rumble Stage 800c from my local shop here.
Haven't heard it in person yet (only on youtube), but sounds great.
In the store they have a Rumble 500c v3, which I did get to play... Loved the sound of it and power..
Do you know if the Stage 800c can produce the same sound using it's v3 modeler it has for it..

The tone is the main thing I'm after that the 500c offers, but I wanted the flexibility of extra effects and sounds without having to purchase additional equipment, and whatnot..
But if the 800 is just a ... "meh... it gets the job done, but you could have done better", than I will have to re-evaluate my purchase lol.

Thanks all.

Hi All!

New member. I’ve had the V3 500 2x10 combo for a month or so now and enjoyed it but felt something was missing. It felt like at higher volumes with my G&L L2000 I’d have to dial out a fair amount of lower mids to keep it from farting out. I know the L2000 has really hot pick ups, but it just wasn’t quite the sound I was after.

Yesterday I picked up a 1x15 V3 cabinet to go with the combo and couldn’t be happier. This thing punches so hard! So looking forward to gigging with this.
Welcome Rumbler # 1022! That is a killer rig. Yes, G&L pups are a lot hotter than average. I have to totally change settings switching from my SB-2T and any of my Fenders (all passive). Rumble On!

With the greatest of ease.

You have chosen wisely.
 Rumble On!

I've been playing the v3 500 for a few years. The tone is great and you can do a lot with the EQ it has. But, to be honest, I did try one a Stage 800 and was very impressed. I loved the SVT setting. My "big rig" for the past year or so is a Bassman 500 with 2 1x15 Pro neo cabs. The Bassman 500 is a Rumble 500 on steroids. The power section is the same as the power section for the Rumble. It has more EQ and comes in a vintage box. But, had I not bought the Bassman, I would have one. Yes, you are allowed multiple Rumbles, but I'm thinking 7 is enough for now.

Thank you all very much.. I'm very excited for it to come in and start making music! ;-)
Waiting for new gear to arrive is exciting, and can drive you crazy at the same time! The hardest thing for me is, when it's winter, and UPS brings the new bass and you have to let it sit for 4 hours to warm up before you open the case!! Welcome to the famous Rumble Club!

Congratulations, Fossil Citizen! The Rumble Stage 800 is a magnificent beast of an amp. You want Rumble V3 sounds? No less than 19 of the 100 stock Rumble Stage and Studio Presets List (.PDF) use the Rumble V3 amp model! Good luck trying them, and tweaking them to make them your own, specifically to your taste.

See the Stage & Studio, and Tone App sections of the Club Wiki page in my signature for more info while you're waiting for delivery!

When you said "don't cheap out" you meant it! Right now that's outside of my price range but I'll keep that in mind when more $$ free's up. For now I'll probably have to go with a simple stomp box type in the 100-200 range. Hopefully it will be good enough at least for now.

I’m enjoying my new hyper luminal compressor from darkglass. Before that I used to Boss CS-2 compressor.

If I were you, I’d try out the Boss LMB3 limiter (it’s a compressor too). It’s cheap used (got mine for $35) and might do the trick and if not, you can sell it and not lose money.

Hi, Fellow Rumblers. Got a question. Let's say that, just for grins, I wanted to plug my bass into my R200c and then go into my Kasino 252 which doesn't have effects in/outputs, thusly running 3x15" speakers. The only inputs on the Kasino are the instrument inputs(1/4")which means I'd be going through the whole pre-amp/power amp chain of the Kasino. I'd like to see(OK, Hear)how that would sound w/o blowing something up. Suggestions?
[I should prolly take it outside]

There is a Fender Rumble Talk about chaining linked on the Wiki page that says you can run the FX Send to the Input without fear of damage.

Yes, take it outside and crank it, bro!

Thanks. I was fairly sure it worked that way but figured I'd double check b4 frying something.[that would be bad]

Helpful Suggestion #1: Just run the FX send from your Rumble into the instrument input of your Kasino. Adjust to taste.

Helpful Suggestion #2: Run an A/B spliter box if you have one, or stereo effects box.

I have numerous unhelpful suggestions also. ;)
:bassist: Rumble Forth & Conquer! :woot:
I'd thought about the splitter if I was gonna play out with this monstrosity. I don't currently have one. I do think it would behoove me to have volumes(and gain on the 200c)off/low to begin with b4 creating tremors in s.e. FL.

No big deal. Just use your normal settings. The FX send is line level to accommodate outboard rack gear. Works as a dandy tuner out too. It is post EQ, but your Kasino wont care.

Well, I tried it(in the house). It really didn't sound any better than the 200c/112 stack, just louder. But the 49 y/o 15s in the Kasino fart too much. Interesting[one time]experiment.:meh:

Did you try turning down the volume on the Kasino? I know it won't hurt anything, but I'm pretty sure the signal coming from the Rumble is a lot hotter than a passive instrument would be.

Oh, yeah. Started w/ everything at"0"(OK, 8). Couldn't bring the Kasino higher than"9", had the 200c at G-9, M-12, tones flat. I'm pretty certain the age of those square magnet spkrs in the K. isn't helping. Side note: someone has a cab like my Kasino(w/o the 'head' part)for sale on Ebay with pics with the back removed. I never knew the thing was/is bottom-front ported! Waddaya know!

So I got some news to share.

My band has been invited to open for Crash Test Dummies on the 28th at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

I dont have that last bit of details yet, like how long we have to set up and tear down, so I'm not sure which amp I'm going to use. I would like to have my Rumble 500H and 2x 210 cabs on stage with me, but I may not have the time needed to set up and tear down properly. Plus we only have a 35 minute set... May end up just using my GK MB212II combo or MB115II combo instead.
