Fender Rumble Club

A couple of months ago, I picked up a 210 and 112 used because the price was just too good to pass up (new condition, $350 for the pair, delivered to me). I finally had the chance to try the 210 in a band situation this weekend. Surprising crisp tone. Not as light or as small as my other cabs, but certainly nice to have around so I can leave one cab at my rehearsal spot. I would be quite happy with these on a gig.
I have a R200c and a R112. They're usually too much for the places we play(I can get by with my R40 most of the time), but the sound of that 15 on top of the 12 is fantastic.:):hyper:

Must be nice. The cheap-@$$ clubs down here don't wanna pay for 'spit'[sp?], so we hafta provide PA-which is why we use the easy to move stuff: my JBL EON one or the guitarist's Bose stick(s).
Haha and my cousin is a professional DJ who performed in Montreal so we have outdoor pa stuff whenever we play close to his camp on one of the lakes here. We don’t play clubs here because we’ve been warned by other groups on how wild they are. Small town bars get crazy sometimes I guess.

The "clubs" we play are VFW's, American Legion's, Elk's, etc,; older(50+)crowds, not rowdy. Also country club restaurant lounges. We're the 'wrong' band for the hell raisers.

Yes. You can do that with the famous @eric_B modification. You might be better off with a Rumble 115 cabinet that you could use with either combo.

Yeah, but the boss had denied any further purchases :) I'm stuck with what I have for a while...

I have read about/researched the modification, and actually plan on using a contact breaking jack so simply plugging the external speaker cable in bypasses the amp, so I don't have to worry about the amp being on or not. Easier to do A/B tests that way.

Tell the boss the 500 and the 200 had a baby.:smug:

Oh, and I got these used, and the 200 was missing the horn and handle. I'm not worried about warranties on these combos. I'm electronically savvy and tend to do my own repairs and modifications. Not usually happy with an amp until I tweak it, if it needs it or not, lol.
Got ya. The missing horn on the 200? Yer not gonna miss it. Mine stays off. Yes, I tried it, didn't like it for what I do.

I've already replaced the horn and handle, more to fill the hole to get the cab back to spec than anything (fill the hole). Pretty cheap and easy, like $15. Previous owner cut the wires, so had minor soldering. They must have yanked the handle off, I had to remove the T nuts and go with standard washer/nut backing. They put some effort into that, the T nuts were really messed up. But thankfully the wood was not.

I do like that the horn is there, and the switch makes it easy to use it or not, depending on which band I'm with and the sound I want.

. . . .
I've got two v3 combos, the 200 (1x15) and the 500 (2x10). They sound good stacked and slaved (effect out of the top 500 into the effect return of the bottom 200 - one vol and EQ to rule them all). . . . .

Have you tried simply putting the 200/115 on top so you hear it better?

So.... after a few posts that I left here and conversations I had with a few folks, I pulled the trigger and bought the Rumble 500 combo. I wanted a good combo for smaller things, but I’m finding that I’m taking it out more and more. I’m very impressed- I’ve had to push it a couple times, but it’s been plenty for what I’ve tried it on so far. So now actually thinking about selling off a few cabs and an amp or two I have laying around, and picking up a Rumble 210 cab to have if needed. And, the dealer I got if from is a friend of mine- He told me the Rumbles are outselling everything else they carry by far. Fender hit a homer in with these..... I think anyway!

Welcome Rumbler # 1028! You band must really loud or you're playing stadiums. I've played a semi outdoor gig that holds 800 people with no extension for my 500c and never have pushed it. Add the extension and you can seriously Rumble On!

Thank you Gravedigger! Happy to be here! Well..... no stadiums Lol. Pretty good size theaters and festivals though. I play with a couple national country artists and for those I just need to monitor my space as we always have full PA on those. I picked the 500 up and went straight to meet the bus- used it all week and it did great. I play with a couple more loacal bands and there will be occasions where there is not full PA. You may be right though- I may end up not needing the extension cab. I don’t really like maxing any amp I use. And they are so light and fairly small that it would be no trouble sticking an extra in the trunk! We’ll see. I’m still in the honeymoon stage!

Well I'm a newbie with a Rumble 25...
This serie doesn't have an active versus passive dual input. Reason ?
Welcome Rumbler # 1029! The 25 is intended to be a "bedroom" practice amp. It works well with both. Not to Worry. I've used my Rumbles with both and have had no problems. I do have to modify the EQ and gain/volume when I changed. With passive, add a bit more gain. With active, back off the gain a bit. Rumble On!
