Fender Rumble Club

If you haven't added an HPF to your rig, you're way behind in knowing what the Rumbles can really do.
Check out the HPF mega thread if you're on the fence or just looking into it.

Do they really improve the rumble sound? I mean, I love rumbles, I got nothing against them. Even using as a proffesional rig, at a gig or on stage, they are good enough... and then some!

Compared to some more higher end stuff like Aguilar, they don’t really sound ‘muddy’ exactly, just not as clean.
Obviously there is a major price difference, but even so, the difference is not that big, and I would never even had to consider any Aguilar or super expensive gear now I’ve got a rumble!

Does this improve the sound, though? In what way? I am very interested!

By the way new 800 rumble head gonna come out! Who is excited!?

:hyper: Me! I am!

These aren’t a digital head like the stage 800 are they? They are just normal like normal rumble heads, just with extra watts.

If they ARE digital, then where do I sign? drool

Well, technically, the Rumble 200, 500 and 800 HD all do have digital power amps. But, I don't think that's really what you're asking.

They do not have any of the digital modelng features of the Rumble LT25, Studio 40 and the Stage 800, which is what I think you're asking. Right?

So I did the day at NAMM with my daughter yesterday...the Fender space looked more like a museum exhibit. Sure , you could take most of the guitars of the wall but the was no place to sit and try one and nothing to plug one into. Next to no amplifiers exhibited, none plugged in, no bass amplifiers exhibited and few basses. Definitely underwhelmed by the Fender exhibit. Ironic that I found out about the new Rumble 800 head from the Rumble Club!!

I thought they were just class D solid state.

I just read something somewhere about the XLR out to the FOH being post something or other and that this gives you less control over your stage volume. I am obviously confused. A quick explanation would be helpful, thanks.

Quick explanation: you're always the one who has the control over your stage volume if you have your own bass rig (combo amp or head & cab), no matter how the XLR out to FoH setting is PRE or POST.

More on this: unless you're talking about bringing an amp which XLR out setting is fixed at POST everything on to a stage with FoH support, and you've had your amp volume set earlier at sound check, at which the sound guy who controls the FoH warned you not to mess around with your amp knobs anymore. Cause later on when you do change the knob settings, especially the volume, you would ruin his FoH mix, which actually it is his job to readjust his FoH mix when this ever happens.

Yup.. that is the main reason why I didn't want the Rumble 500c... Great amp - small issue for many, but for me, I'm extremely anal that way... I want to be able to go and add effects, change my volume, do whatever (I need my stage monitor's volume adjusted frequently -- especially as the night progresses) at any time whilst performing on stage...
The post only option on the Rumble 500 doesn't offer that flexability..
So I went with the Stage 800c, which has both! Fantastic...
I usually run clean for my songs with maybe a compressor, but that's pretty much it.... So having the ability to adjust my sound / volume on stage, is amazing without screwing up the FOH....
If I have specific tonal expectations, than I have to run post as the sound guy won't be able to give me what I want... but 95% of the time, PRE is where it's at for me.

What's FOH? (I know what it means, we just never have it). We could go through our PA, but since we barely make enuff $ for ourselves, we are our own 'soundman'.

Speaking from a person who plays both guitar and bass, Fender absolutely killed it this year at NAMM. One of my favorite things they introduced is the Sixty-six: a shortscale HSS guitar with the body of a Jazz Bass. If I hadn’t bought a new Mustang at the beginning of this month, I would be all over this. Now, I have to take inventory and see if I can part with any gear (so far, I haven’t been able to do this) in order to fund this purchase. Realistically, I’m going to have to endure the GAS pain until I figure out a way to take this baby home.

Looks pretty cool!

FOH = Front Of House... So it goes through the bars / clubs PA system, and the sound guy/gal (that is employed by the house (not always, but usually), controls what the audience / establishment hears..
As I said, I know what 'FOH' is, we never play any place that has it. One place we play(we were there last night)originally wanted us to hook in to their house PA to put our music into the 'smoker's bar'. I [not the band] invested in amp mics and a rig to mic the drums. We used it twice-w/ us controlling sound-then they decided to use the outside jukebox which was mostly "country". I don't take the mic'ing stuff with me anymore. It's all in a duffel here with my PA speakers we also don't use. 'Course as soon as I would sell them(at a loss I'm sure)we'd need them. Because we play for older(50+)crowds, we don't need a helluva lotta volume. We use either my JBL EON One or the guitar mans 1 or 2 Bose 'sticks'. They're plenty.

From a person who doesn't play guitar(ex-saxist), that's a nice looking axe. Esp. the 'natural'!

With all of the stuff they have come up with recently, I'm surprised they haven't thought of this one sooner. It is sexy! I'm a burst guy, so that's the one for me, but the Daphne is pretty sweet too. Not a fan of the 70s headstock, so that's the only change I can think I would make. If I played more electric, I would have to have one. So, I'll stick with 4 already in my closet.
