Your best bet for recording is the Studio 40 direct from the XLR out straight into your board/interface. The new Rumble LT25 can also go direct from the USB port. Here check out these direct recordings by @alfiofer

You know. And this is just my opinion, but I hate DI as the main method of capturing sound. I don't know why. That's not to say I don't DI. I do. But more for filling out the sound rather than being the whole sound.
I like having the sound of the room in the mix. It feels more natural even if I'm in the little bassist box. When I do this, though I have to segregate the amp and mic because I have a pretty strong attack with these Lil fingers.
But yeah. I'm glad I'm not crazy and smaller amps do actually provide a better sound for recording.
