It looks like I'm going for a Rumble 800 Head.![]()
Apparently the driver in the 40 & Studio 40 is 8 Ohms, I'm curious if it would be possible to throw a 4 Ohm driver in there.
I know it's possible for the Rumble 200.
Exactly.IF I understand the manual,it's 140W @ 8 ohms;adding a second 8 ohm cab gives you 200W @ 4 ohms. Or something like that![]()
I just did 4 gigs and one rehearsal in one week with my R40-and no FOH.This is from the book that came with my Rumble 40. Looks like the 200 by design can drive a 4 ohm load. Not much information in the block diagram to even start thinking about what it would take to replace the amplifier section in the 40.
FWIW, the 40 is plenty enough for me for home use, and it has a balanced line out for connection to a PA if I need more.

Aah, just drill a few holes in the top to let the heat escape. That manual is also available online & it reminds me that the 200 & 500 have a FAN. I'll bet the 40 would get HOT at 4 Ohms w/o the fan & not be a good idea, LOL!

No sir it is not safe at all. The R40 output trans cannot handle a 4ohm load.I would not risk that personally.
Welcome Rumble #1057. That 25 actually has about the same output as the old B-15s. IIRC, it was rated at 35W. Rumble On!I had zero qualms with the Ampeg. I actually had a B-15 flip in the 60's. I bought a Fretless and love the low volume clairity and Boomer bass tone on the Rumble, 25w...8"...amazing.
Announcing my new Ultimate Rumble-Bassman STEREO rig! My Rumble Studio 40 with FX Sends to 2 Rumble 800 HDs driving 2 Bassman 810 NEOs!!
If I'm not mistaken zZounds actually carries the 500 and the 800 head on their website might take a look.No April Fools about it, I managed to acquire the only Rumble 800 head at a SA warehouse in CA. I'm hoping to see it maybe Thursday, or Friday.

I'm having trouble figuring something out on my Stage 800, maybe you folks can help me.
I would like to be able to be playing with a preset, like standard SVT and then step on the footswitch to add an effect just as I could with a stompbox. I can't figure this out. I feel stooopid...![]()
