Fender Rumble Club

Used to play a certain bar pretty often that the bar owner would kill the power to the band if he thought we were too loud. Man that would make us mad at 25-30 yrs old. Now at 50, I understand completely!
I have this theory, weird though it may be. If the person paying the band says yer too loud, yer too loud.

Hi all well after being pretty clear in my head about what I wanted to do, now I'm thinking about going the 15 cab route and using my tube head for a while until I could get maybe a used Rumble 500. But still kinda wanting the 200c. Time to go to Sam Ash/Guitar Center and test some stuff out.

Tube amps + 15"ers = a match made in heaven :thumbsup::thumbsup:!

The Rumble 500 with 10's is a much different sound than the tube with 15's.

I know you, like, well, every single person on earth will probably discard my advice, but, I had both the 500 and the 200c. And in my opinion, the 200c is the best of all the Rumble amps. Especially if you connect a 115 extension cab. It has a perfect sound made for any type of music. Good luck with your decision and cheers!

@Kipp Harrington would probably have something to say about this as well. My Combo 200 with a Rumble 15 Cab, Vintage Button on, is as close to the tube amp and 2-JBL D140F's that I had back in the '60's. The Rumble Studio 40 I have does even better, all be it for smaller venues. I do not have the money or the back for a tube amp at this time, but I am happy :).

I've never understood why Fender didn't put a 15 in the 500c or offer both 2x10s or 1x15 as an option. The 15 cabinet can handle the power of the 500c at 8 ohms (350 watts).

Souly, don't forget that with just an instrument cable from your Studio's Left (mono) Effects Send to your R200c's Effects Return you can get 180 watts behind your Studio's sounds for medium to bigger venues! Of course, as usual, adding your 115 cab could still add another 60 watts to that, along with the extra 15" speaker for really big gigs. None too shabby, that.

+1  It's as close to my old silverfaced Bassman 100 + Bassman 215 cab as you are going to get in a solid state all analog amp.

That's one killer little amp!:woot: It does so much and sounds so good :hyper: Truly amazing.

I bought a Rumble 25 today and have fallen madly in love with it. It's my first actual bass amp, so this is a whole new bag of badgers for me - I've spent the past 2 years playing bass through my PC or PS3 on Rocksmith, so my entire bass experience has been through complete computer modulation. I had only the most ambiguous idea of what my bass even sounded like before today (I constantly had the volume and tone dimed so that Rocksmith could pick up my signal better).

I had a blast plugging my phone into the aux input and jamming along with drum loops and Youtube videos. I noticed one odd thing: While the amp came out of the box with all of the EQ knobs set to 0, the demo version set up at the shop had all the knobs set to high noon, and at high noon, there's a little blip where the knobs settle in...is there a "default" setting for the knobs? If so, is it at 0 or is it at high noon?

I bought 2 Rumble 25's the other day for the practice studio at Mat Music here in Wasilla, Alaska. One for my bass and one for my instructor. Amazing amps. But I don't know what "ambiguous" means.

Yes. High noon is zero boost or cut. I had a Rumble 25 for a year to keep at my guitar player's house for low volume rehearsals. Be sure to plug in a good set of headphones and prepare to be amazed at how good it sounds. Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club.

I know nothing about the 200C. However, it’s a Rumble, and if you say it sounds that good paired with the 115, I won’t pose an argument. Just wondering if the people who pair the 200C with the 115 have paired the 500 with the 115 (or 410) for that matter. I have both... and both sound great independently or run in tandem. Rumble on!!!

Fully agree! I owned the 500 head with the 115 cab... just didn’t sound as good to my ears!

Got my Rumble LT25 a couple of weeks ago and enjoying the heck out of it. Welcome to the club...

I had the 500 with 115's and 410's. The 15" speakers sound better to my ears than the 10's. However, with the 200c and one 15" extension cab, I got as much, to my ears, volume with the 200c WITH the extension cab as with the 500 head and 2 cabinets. I'm sure the 500 is louder, but I couldn't tell the difference. Don't misunderstand me, I think they're both amazing little amps and anyone would do well to have either or both, I did. I just really prefer the 200c and the 115 cab for sound, price, and convenience over the 500 head and 2 cabs. With the 500c, you're stuck with 10" drivers and mixing them with 15's doesn't seem to sound good to me. If you like 10" drivers, then the 500c is an excellent choice. I have 10" drivers in my VB810 cabinets and with the Ampeg or Marshall tube amps, they are mind splittingly loud, low, and clear. But man, I'll never get rid of the Rumble 200c!

Sounds like you have a rig you are very satisfied with. I am sure it sounds great (like all Rumbles). I guess I didn’t clarify that I don’t have the 500 combo... I’ve got the 500 head with a 410 and 115 cab. I can use either or both together. The 15 sounds great and can probably handle most small-medium sized gigs. If I need a little more push, I’ll bring the 410. Outdoors I’ll probably stack ‘em  Rumble on!!!
