Faaaascinating (to quote Mr. Spock). So several of you like the 200c driving a 115 cab better than the 500 head driving the 115 cab? I wasn't super clear in my post, I think -- I'm not interested in the 500c at all but could see going the separate speaker/head route since I already have a nice head, even it if is kind of heavy.

I definitely want a 15 speaker which is why the 200c appeals to me more than the 500c. For those who missed it I have Music Man HD 150 head and a 15 EV cab and it sounds great but it is SUPER heavy. The cabinet is just a beast. Would be pretty cool if I liked the 200c the best because it's also such a budget friendly option and would be so easy to transport, and then I could add a 115 later.

I absolutely love my 200c/112 pairing. I rarely get the opportunity to use both, but when I do...sweetness. The Bassman 25-on top of the R40-has a soft but irritating buzz I need to fix. The R40 is sufficient for many of our gigs so the 200/112 stack stays home.

I always prefer a separate head, gives me more options, and allows me to go to rehearsal with just a bass and tiny head.

Absolutely. Also, the 200c is very light. The 115 Rumble cab is light as well, and really affordable.

OK then, it's a pull tab that gives you access to your secret stash. While removing the grillecloth does reveal the speaker there is also a round hole that many think is a tuned port. In reality it is not a porthole but rather a pothole. :smug:
