Fender Rumble Club

I just haven't had the chance to get the B25 down to the tech in WPB. Unless it turns out to be ng, it'll be repaired and resurrected.
AFAIK those Mackies are not battery powered.
Thanks, GP!
Yeah. I really didn’t know too much about the Bassman combos until I saw yours and G-Dog’s.
They’re really cool and definitely worth preserving!
No, the Mackie SRM150, and the many other makes and models in that same form factor (some with reverb or echo!), are not battery powered. They are, in fact, 150 watt amps that would suck the life outta good sized set o' batt'ries before you could finish one song! Sorry if that sleek, cableless marketing photo I posted led you to think otherwise. :smug:
.
Oh I’m used to you posting misleading photos, sir!
Sorry, Aaron, I missed the battery-powered prerequisite.
No worries, Droop!
It’s a weird requirement, but it’s one of those things that when you need a battery powered amp, you either have one or you don’t. Which means you either get to play your bass or you don’t...and it makes me sad when I don’t get to play my bass!

Thanks, GP!

You could get an inverter, run offa your 12v in the car and get a coupla loooong extension cords.:smug:

Too bad there's such a (seemingly) big gap between the 200 and 500 combos, eh? Something like a 350ish combo, running 200ish at 8 ohms, would be a more convenient addition to your arsenal, no? That, with just one 100 would get you a very substantial power level. But what unique speaker(s) would the 350ish have, huh? Maybe it should have the 2x10s and the 500 should have 2x12s! Not that I would wish any more weight on the current 500 owners. (sigh) If only . . .
.
I’ve definitely considered tracking down a 350 head. Shame they stopped making the smaller heads, especially in the 350 and 500 power levels. I know I will be pleased as punch with a 500c, so I’m not sweating it :D

I use the FX send to the 2nd FX return. That way I have line out to PA as well if needed!
I'm confused... I thought I understood how this worked and picked up a R100c to pair with my Studio 40. Been playing them together for a couple weeks, then noticed that it didn't get as loud as I expected when I finally tried turning it up a bit more. I also have it hooked from RS40 FX Send to R100c FX Recv. Played around with it, and discovered that nothing changed the volume coming from the R100c... turning the master on the RS40 didn't... turning the master on the R100c didn't. I could turn either all the way up or all the way down with no volume change. What have I missed? Is the master post-FX on the RS40, but pre-FX on the R100c?... that would be inconvenient.

I know that on the 100 > 100 chain, the second amp becomes a slave. The signal enters at the very end of the amp circuit; it’s post every control, basically power amp > speaker. All controls on amp 1 control amp 2 as well.

aren’t there multiple outs on the Studio? Some one just figured this out.... @LoveJackBruce maybe? Paging @G-Dog !

On the R100c -> R100c chain, of course they're both going to be controlled the same way. I'm beginning to worry that the RS40 is different, making the chaining incompatible. Would next need to see if one of the XLR line outs would work instead.

I have 0 experience with the studio, but like I said someone was just talking about this recently. Hopefully they’ll drop in soon!

I was able to run a Roland Micro Cube with a Pedaltrain Volto....

There’s also a separate thread for the modelling amps... maybe they have the answer....

So just tried sending from Line Out (POST)... no volume control with Master on that signal either. You could configure the gain manually in the menu, but that's not practical to allow you to turn the volume up and down.
Well... this configuration just seems incompatible. "Line In" on the R100c can't be used, since that's a fixed volume input. None of the outputs on the Studio (FX Send, Line Out) include volume control (except headphone, which is non-usable) and none of the inputs on the R100c (except the instrument input) include volume control. So it seems only viable configuration is to run the signal into the main Input and hope to keep the R100c preamp settings as flat as possible.

I tested the configuration in the other direction (R100c -> RS40) and sure enough, both volume controls worked locally and to control the FX level. But who would want to hook up a RS40 as a slave to a R100c? Bummer.

What??? Say it isn't so...:rollno:

So, if I am reading this correctly, all the hype on the Studio 40 being able to connect through another Rumble (200C) to give the Studio 40 effects at higher power was just hype. Many assumed it would but no one tried until recently, and it does not work. If this is true, it has to rank right up there with buyer beware. I expected more from those on TB. Too bad my return window is closed.

I don't know if the R200c behaves the same way as the R100c (volume control is before the FX loop). All I've been able to determine is the Studio 40 doesn't control the output level, and the only place the R100c does is at the main input. So the FX loop is fixed level on the Studio and variable level on the R100c.

Guess we will find out sooner or later...
