Fender Rumble Club

This surprised me, too. I thought the benefits of speakon connectors were well established at this point. Oh well, getting rid of the speakon-to-speakon cable in my bag will actually free up some space.
I went with a 1/4 to speakon cable to insure I had the advantage of Speakon on at least one end...

They could be coming from completely different warehouses/distribution centers.

Very good point, the tracking for both says the origin scan was in Bloomington, which isn't far from Fender's distribution center, or the factory in Corona, so they might have shipped one from from each location, due to what stock was on hand.

This might also be why Dave's MF order was split up. My 210 cab appears to be coming from Utah (according to UPS), though Musician's Friend has a distribution center in Kansas City, so they must have multiple centers to ship from. Or it's coming from GC.

Mine was shipped from Kansas

Just checked my MF order. They shipped and gave me a tracking number. For the 1/4 to speakon cable... The cab is still processing..

I got two separate emails from GC that my amp and cab had shipped.

My amp is in Lenexa, KS according to UPS and will be delivered on Wednesday.

UPS says they can't find the tracking number for my cab which probably means it hasn't been picked up yet.

I guess they will be coming separately and that my cab will be a few days behind my amp.

Been playing on my 200 for a bit now. Big, fat beefy tone. I am starting to think that I am never going to turn that vintage switch off. Will be taking it to practice tomorrow to see how it stands up to the rest of the group.
Fantastic amp!
Ahhhh! The joy of a new Fender Rumble! It is a beautiful thing.

Fantastic amp!
Let us know. I feel the same way about the vintage switch, but in some rooms/situations it's too much.

That's due in part to the high demand for Rumble 500's and also your Canadian dollar is tanking pretty hard.
I understand our dollar tanking but then what is Traynors excuse?
100% Canadian made and employed.
Im just getting sick of it all.
Every since my rig was stolen i have to play on gear that im not happy with.
Save and save and then raise the prices.
Need a room to myself with alot of breakables.

Awesome. That old V1 goes to prove the point that the rumor of the Rumble series amps being toys is unfounded.
Apparently so. I never checked them out because of the packaging - the different logo and such. It didn't look "Fender," therefore to me wasn't. In fact I thought they looked cheap, and in my head the different logo was Fender's attempt to separate their pro gear from the Rumble stuff. Right or wrong, the power of marketing.

But while on marketing, let me bring up the Bassman 500 - ***? I think it's an awesome idea, but I think Fender went too far the other way trying to make their bass amps look "Fender." To wit: We've got a tube-driven class D amplifier that is probably 3 times the size it should be, for no other reason than Fender wants it to look "vintage." Have a close look at the promo pics - the interior appears to be totally empty. They built them like that back in the day to cool those big power tubes; don't need that with class D!

I appreciate the attempt, I really do, but in the bargain it looks as though they've added probably a good 5-6 pounds of unnecessary case. Man... this another situation where I'm interested, but won't consider it because of the size.

One big reason is that the front end is identical to the Super Bassman & 100t, so it has to be at least that long. Plus it does need to be aesthetically pleasing too, so the dimensions have to jive with the retro/vintage look and match both the Bassman Pro cabs as well as the V3 Rumble cabs. I like the look.

Awesome. That old V1 goes to prove the point that the rumor of the Rumble series amps being toys is unfounded.

The Rumble amps have been bad mouthed a lot since their inception for this, but I have not seen anything to be concerned.

However, I will share my experience amp shopping, something I rarely do. When I first re-entered bass playing several years back, I outgrew the little 20w Acoustic amp I started with. Aside from me overtaxing the little bugger trying to overcome Leadfoot Louie the drummer, it was a great little amp. Far better than what the rumors on here would have you believe.

I traded the 20 in for a new amp when the time came. My mind was set on one of those 15" combos from a highly touted brand. Every one o those I played either sounded bad or had some major electrical malfunction. All the other combo amps in my price range sounded better than the big name brand.

So I "settled" on the 150w Fender combo. By settled I mean, Fender amps are just toys. I beat that thing. I ran it full tilt more than once. I did finally stretch the cone enough I couldnt push the volume past 50% without some odd noises. Sold it to some kid in a punk band for what I paid for it. Honestly should have dropped an Eminence in it and kept trucking.

So i moved on to a head & cab set up. Tried all the major players. Once again I was disheartened by some of the big name brands. At the time, no V3 Fenders were in stores or in stock. I bought a Hartke LH1000 head and AK410. Both very good products.

What i can tell you is I was surprised when I finally did get a 500w V3 head, just how awesome it sounds through that cab. Stunning.

All said and done I know this. The next amp and or cabinet i buy will be a Fender.

I would have ignored it since it said Fender but a friend went out of his way to bring his new 500 head to my gig and I felt obligated to try it. I loved it immediately and ordered one the next day. It's not perfect but its close enough to make the value proposition a no brained. I'll continue to hope for a couple new features/models that would make the line ideal for me.
