Fender Rumble Club

Are any of you guys rocking one of these new rumbles with a stingray?? They seem to be killing in reviews, so I can't see why they wouldn't work great with any bass. I'm looking into retiring my 9 year old Crate Bt-15 (Man it really stood the test of time for all the hate those amps got..), so I was thinking of upgrading to the rumble 40. I just need something with more tone options, or just more options in general as the Crate is verrry limited. Also the extra power would be nice as I do some very loud ambient experimentation here and there.. Do they work pretty well with pedals/ big pedal boards for that matter?

Dude, didn't I ever tell ya, Rumbles Rock! :smug: ?! The Rumble 40 gets many raves & well deserved accolades. I'd recommend you buy as much Rumble as you can possibly afford. The Rumble 100 is especially well beloved (as are they all) and the Rumble 500 is setting world records. :bassist:

I don't have an active bass, but my p/j is pretty hot for a passive, and it sounds on par with my low output jazz basses. The great thing about the Gain control I've found is that, while it does affect the drive circuit when engaged, it isn't really a preamp overdriver; it's more of an input matching clean gain type of thing. I can keep it low on my hotter basses and turn it a bit on my others.

Also, probably for similar design reasons, it's great with pedals. The 500/210 is one of the best sounding pedal rigs I've had. I have a guitar player friend that says he's a pedal guy and likes Fender because it gives him a clean, basic tone to work with. Same seems to be true for bass.

I use my Rumble 100 with a SUB Ray4. Not quite the full-blown StingRay, but not that far off. I was a little worried, because the Ray4 preamp is very hot, and the Rumble doesn't have a passive input. I needn't have worried. The sound is warm and punchy without being distorted. It certainly works for me!

I am also considering cutting and resoldering the 1/4" end on mine as well. Not even so much the excess to haul but even more, I hate having extra cabling junking up an area that can be easily cleaned up. I fully intend on running my combo on top, the 210 on bottom. I think 4 feet should be more than enough including slack in the cable, 3 feet might do the trick as well...

Zip ties.

It does. My bandmates like to play loud and I was using the head with a 410. I fixed them when I brought the 810 out. Our sound guy loves it.

Okay, which Rumble head, and what 810 cab? Pics would be awesome! Sound clips would be better!
