Fender Rumble Club

Too many variables for us to say for sure, mikie. Writing bass parts, recording bass lines, even playing along to a loud stereo at "near garage band volume" a 200 is plenty. But, when you get other guys jamming, and possibly playing large venue gigs, then all bets are off. It might, conceivably, be enough but chances are high that it might not be! It's your chance to take, if you're a ramblin' gamblin' man.

But, if you wanna hedge your bet, and future-proof your purchase, the 500 is the surest way to go. It'll definitely handle very loud bands. Of course, there's also a chance that Murphy's Law then dictates that you'll never turn the 500 up past 9-10 o'clock (curse that 'Dog for selling me more than I needed!).
.
thanks G-Dog. I'll think I'll be placing my bet on a 200

I played in a cavernous parking garage of concrete w/high metal roof.....could not hear myself w/200c and no stand so I kept turning up.....(guitarist was on my 100w eCoustic peavy)...think I got really close to Diming it. The farther I got but ahead of the amp, the better I could hear it....
Standing right in front of any bass amp, you're not gonna hear what the audience hears. Most of our 'stages'(band "areas")are pretty tight. Last night I was maybe 5' in front of the R100[on a stand].B4 we started playing, I walked as far out as I could in front of the stage to see what I sounded like to the room, then made a few tweaks.

Best reason to own a wireless system.

Agreed, wireless systems sure are handy. I use one called Xvive Audio U2, similar in concept to these. The first set I owned actually failed after about six months, so Xvive sent me a new one, no questions asked. Back when I was playing gigs (pre-you-know-what), I just had to make sure I fully recharged it right before the gig.

Hey all!

Long story about the combo head of my Fender Rumble 25 V2 ending up like a bass home studio pre-amp, It works surprisingly well when adding some "color" before the audio interface but I've been thinking of taking back the amp to its old glory, this time as a killer head/cab practicing amplifier. so, do anyone knows some goods 8 Ohm, 10" speaker replacements? the original was severely damaged (not my fault).

IDK if I may ask for a club number having my Rumble in that unfortunate state.

On my Rumble 40 that I had - I used a Eminence 2510, I think they are called a Deltalite but not sure. I know there is a thread for updating the 40 here on TB.

Check it out - It had lots of good stuff and several were using the Eminence 2010 - Good luck.

I just checked out the Eminence 2010, it seems to be a fantastic upgrade for my amp. Also I've been looking for a post of someone who modded a Rumble and they where dicussing the nuances in detail about different speakers brands and models but unfortunately I can't find that post again, that's because I made the post here but I'm still looking for it. Also, thanks for the suggetion!

Yes, Evil, I do believe your surgery patient Rumble qualifies. @Evilheim, you are now member #1326 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Please put your Club number in your TB Signature for safe keeping. Then you may find something of interest in the Rumble Modifications section or the Speaker Replacements sub-section of our Rumble Club Wiki page.

Here's a [0]=318957']list of all your TalkBass posts, Evil. Now I recognize you from the Fender Jaguar Bass Club! But, I don’t see the post about speakers you describe, either. Hmmm ... ... Well, hopefully you'll find some to help in my links above.

Meanwhile, please tell us of your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. We have all kinds here, so you'll fit right in. 'Cause, here, we all love to ... ...

Sorta related, that's what I used to replace the speaker in my 2000 Bassman 25.(the original just didn't sound 'right' anymore)

Thanks for the number G-Dog, also for the links, I just did a quick look and I think I have enought information in my hand to proceed safely with the operation, mine is V1. I always believeb that it was V2, anyway, It is in fact my first amp ever, I got it in summer 2007, pretty solid amp, It Can get pretty lowd for just 25 watts amp, was even enought for rehearsal at the garage with a full 4 members band, I also did some concerts with a microphone.

It got broken moving overseas from Canary islands to Madrid a couple of years back the speaker ended up insurmountable, but the head still works pretty well, I just did minor electronical components replacement.
