Fender Rumble Club

Here's the fill in job I did tonight. It was outside, and a lot of people hung out. I really enjoyed the Musicmaster through the Rumble. I don't think I'll be playing my Precision too much anymore. I had to change up the eq for the Musicmaster. I even pushed the vintage button a couple times. By the time we were done, the moon was up, and it was in the mid fifties. It was a fun night!

Out tonight in Lo de Marcos, Nayarit, Mexico. Visiting friends on our way home from our two month Airstream Caravan in Mexico. Tonight’s band was made up of players ‘of an age’ (hey I felt young compared). Playing 60’s, 70’s, 80’s rock. Bassist was on a JB (not a Fender neck, though) and played through a Rumble (100?)on top of a Hartke 2x10. Good tone and he was a good bassist, all while singing.

Too tall for a 100. Either a 200 or 500(same size cab).

...I've never had any big amps for guitar. Today I plugged a strat clone into my 500 combo and 210 cab. Oh boy I'm in love again. I've heard some use a bass amp because they like the sound. As far as I'm concerned this will be all I ever need for guitar.

Will it work in the long run or will there be times where any bass amp won't do what's required for a decent guitar sound ? Like a said I'm not much of a tone chaser, and just one afternoon where the house was occupied, I'm pretty sure I'm set here...

Everyone has their own taste, but for me, my Rumble 40 is the best guitar amp I've ever had. I use it with two Telecasters and a semi-hollowbody PRS. Plus my basses.

Hello! New fender rumble 100 owner here. Paired with my capri orange player P it .... was a match made in heaven.
I played in bands years back, never stopped playing here and there but am now getting back into it once again. Motown, funk, bluesy grunge rock etcetc.

I have searched this forum for an answer to my problem to no avail.

The sound from this amp used to be big, bold and really loud, but I noticed one day last week that the volume pot on the amp was turned up to noon (it is normally around 10%), and the gain was just over noon as I wanted it, but the output volume was not particuarly loud. Quieter than normal actually.
Later, i noticed the master volume was at maximum. I am sure I did not turn it!. I turned the gain up to max too and it was not particuarly loud, i could be heard talking over it. I tried it again without the FX loop connected, and the same. Even with everything cranked up to 10 it is not very loud at all. I think there is a problem with it for sure.

My now-49-year-old son got a parent-teacher conference for answering a clockface question with a digital clock answer way, way back in elementary school! Nowadays, traditional clockface reading is becoming even more of an uncommon skill.
.
I asked my 16 yr old what time the clock said, and he had to think about it. I said you need to learn to tell time. He replied, why? I had no response. :(

Looking
yah, I am not really familiar with the 100. Looking more closely at the photo, 500. I can see the outline of a 10” in the upper left where the microphone is, not in the center like my 200. Interestingly, they were not really loud yet he had full 500 watt capacity and was mic’ed. perhaps the Hartke was for the keys….All in all a good night.

We don't mic instruments-the places we play it's not needed. But for outside gigs, having a balanced sound coming outta the PA is a good idea. No more sitting to the right, you hear the guitar; sitting to the left, you hear the bass. Probably using the 500 as a stage monitor.

Could be an issue with your pedalboard. Did you try just your bass into amp?

Have you tried it without any pedals?

Yes, Andy, a heavenly rig! @Andybass0077, you are now member #1463 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Andy, I've not read of anyone else having that problem. It sounds like time to take it back to your vendor for replacement, if not on their own 90-day (or whatever) guarantee, then on the Fender 2-year warranty.

How's about telling us a bit about yourself, Andy, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Whatever your situation you're bound to fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

With the FX loop in use, the volume seems limited as in the video above. Unplugging the fx loop releases the full normal volume (maybe). I have however, also got used to it since buying it though, which also makes it appear quieter!

I don't know anymore. Needs more playing hours to analyse...
I can always take it to my local guitar shop for a check if I lose sleep over it.

Awesome little amp though! Lovely clear deep bass.

Please excuse the janky recording on my phone and breathing noises.. i need to get an audio interface. To stop breathing would solve some issues, but also create others.

If the problem only occurs with the FX Loop in use, then the problem seems to be in at least one of your pedals or cables. Check that the pedals are actually getting the proper power supply. Check them individually to narrow it down to which one, or which connecting cable.

Also, check with just one cable directly from FX Send to FX Return to verify no problem with the Rumble.
