Fender Rumble Club

I bet you can! The only rule for The Fender Rumble Club is well stated on post number one, "a club for those of us who use and love the Fender Rumble series of amps." I'm sure G-Dog will be around soon enough. The Rumble also sounds good for a clean jazzy tone for guitar!

Well then I qualify because I f&%kin love this thing! To me the Rumble 25 is like a Champ and a Bassman's wayward love child.

I'm taking lessons from a guy and we are studying the Real Book. My teacher is very into proper jazz tone. I think this amp will be perfect for that.

I have gigged for many years with a pair of Fender Champs (1965 & 1966 models) and a Tube Screamer. Total rock n roll attitude, at a volume level where no one gets hurt. To me this Rumble sounds like a Champ with a Tube Screamer already built in. Nails the 8" speaker thing. I plan on adding a second 25 and setting up a gig-rig so I can retire my Champs. I can retire the Tube Screamer too, for that matter.

I've jammed with a very bluesy guitarist using an old V1 Rumble 25, the one with the pulsing red lights in the port. It was a fantastic sound, like you said, like the love child of a Fender Champ and a Bassman.

I read on Sweetwater's site (and others) that the Rumble 500c weighs less than the Rumble 210 cab by a couple pounds.

Through the Magic of Fender! I love my 200c V3 and 210 cab! The 210 sounds great with all the heads I’ve plugged into it. As the saying goes, “ It punches well above it’s weight class”.

Which leads me to this thought:
You know how we're always worried about gear simultaneously combusting whilst on stage?
Since I use a 500c all the time, why don't I get another 500c or 200c and use IT as my extension cab. Then I'm prepared in case the "driving" amp gets hit by a nuke. I'll just swap out the daisy chain and WHAMO!, the gig continues.

Summary:
Don't buy an extension cab, just buy a backup amp.
Makes sense ? Right??

This is because the Rumble 210 is made in China by Eminence for Fender and the plywood there is heavier. Also the twin steel side handles add some weight. ... ... ...

Yep, adding the 500 amp section to make the combo makes the thing lose 3lbs. Go figure. The cabinets otherwise are painfully close to identical. However the 210 cab has those ultra beefy side handles. I know they pack on a bit of weight...

why does the 210 rumble cab weigh 2.5 lbs more than the 500 combo, just wondering .i thought same cab but with the amp in it would weigh more.......

Don't know. Could it be the side handles?

I bought a separate head for the 210. Sounds sweet.

I just saw this video posted over on TDPRI the other day. It rocks, great work!

My first “guitar” amp was my Rumble 25. I have others now, but I can throw some OD and Reverb on the 25 and man, that thing cooks! I prefer it to my 100 for guitar.

I believe I read somewhere the combo and the cab are made of different material, but rummaging through the wiki pages might help.

... ... ... The new cabs are made in China. They are being manufactured for Fender by Eminence!
Very same electronics. Plywood is different/heavier. Fender's Indonesian facility has been running Full Tilt Boogie for a year now and simply doesn't have the capacity to take on more product.

... ... The Rumble 210 is being built for Fender by Eminence at their factory in China where the woofers are made. The dimensions are identical as are the drivers. It's just that the Chinese plywood is a bit heavier than the very lightweight plywood from Indonesia. The Fender facility in Indonesia is being over taxed making Fender Rumbles and also the super popular Champion line of combos for guitar. A good problem to have.

... ... The new Rumble 210 and 112 are being built for Fender by Eminence in China and they are using a slightly heavier plywood. The Rumble 410 and 115 cabs are still being made at Fender's facility in Indonesia to the best of my knowledge. The plywood being used there is a lighter weight. There is bracing involved and acoustic lining; steel handles, and castors. The cabinets are bigger than the combos, and in the case of the 410 has twice as many speakers. So it's really easy to understand the weight differences. ... ...

... ... The plywood sourced in Indonesia is a higher quality lightweight ply. The plywood sourced in China for Rumble 210 & 112 cabinets is a heavier/denser ply.

I recently took delivery of my new Rumble family, the 500 and 200 combo’s along with the Rumble 210 ext cab.
Used my new 500c with my new r210 extension cab last night and it definitely kicked at my rather loud rock cover band at sound check.
Haven’t tried hooking up my new 200c to my r210 extension cab yet,, I wonder how that will sound when I try that out ?
I play 5 string bass and BEAD bass’s and do tend to live on my low B string a lot.
Opinions and thoughts are welcomed ?
