Fender Rumble Club

Here is the official (slightly unofficial) list. I need Edward G and joebar to please verify that they do want a number. I took the liberty of assuming both of you did want a number. :)

01. BumbleB
02. BassSurfer
03. Edward G
04. joebar
05. tabdog
06. rocksmoot
07. adk teleman

Have any of you used your Rumbles with other instruments? We recently bought an electric cello and I'm assuming it could be played with this amp, but we haven't tried it yet. If anybody knows anything about how well these two pieces play together please let me know!

Thank you for the continued interest! :D

I disagree about the 410 combo - the thing that makes a combo great is it's easy portability, which a 410 - any 410 - is not.

However, that's not to say Fender couldn't make changes to increase sales. Personally, and I've owned some expensive shite in my time, I think the V3 line is world class. But it has 2 things against it: 1) the Rumble name. Like it or not, that name is associated with low end products, and there will always be a stigma associated with it. B) It looks cheap. While the case may be practical and cost-effective, it looks like a Radio Shack case. If they could sex it up, the way Genz did with the Streamliner, it would go a long way toward improved sales. But keep it small; that Bassman 500 is way too big. People listen with their eyes, don't forget.

And add a proper damned XLR/DI.

One other thing: I wish Fender would appear here periodically. Robert Gallien answers the odd issue from time to time on the GK page, and it would be nice if Fender would do likewise here.

In the meantime, I'm still digging this little amp. It's not the sound in my head, but what comes out it is so good, it's caused me to revise that sound.

Alright so, I received the 500 head last Wednesday and was only able to test it out via the headphone jack since my cabs spend most of their time at the practice space. Normally, I play through a QSC RMX 2450 with a Sansamp Paradriver DI which sounds great to my ears, but it is a backbreaking endeavor every time we have to load out for shows. This is the reason I got the 500 head. Before loading out for the show this past Saturday I gave it a quick 3 minute whirl through my modified, tweeterless Avatar B212 just to see if everything functions as it should. This beefy little bastard surpassed all of my expectations. It was super loud with a voicing that is a lot bassier than I expected. I actually had to roll off the bass to 10 o'clock.

We took the stage at midnight (what the heck? Thanks Mr. Vocalist.) I flipped the amp on and cranked the master to noon. I didn't need to go any higher than that for our 4 piece punk band. The bass shook the whole bar. The best way I could describe it was vintage. I had everything set to flat except for the bass rolled off a little. I really loved how punchy the staccato notes sounded. I can't wait to experiment with the different sound possibilities next practice.

Edit: The carrying case/satchel is awesome!
Wow, I have not had the master above 10 o'clock yet and I am shaking places (Avatar B212 with Neos). I put the gain really high but i can only imagine how loud you must have been at noon for the master.

A Fender Rumble head question for folks who have them- any tips on anything to anchor them to the top of a bass cabinet? I currently play with my amp head on the floor next to the amp as it has vibrated right off the top of my Avatar B212 cabinet. I have seen others suggest velcro or some type of strap attachment to anchor it to the cabinet carrying handles but I figured I would ask here. Thanks!

I don't think Fender is hurting for Rumble sales. I think the name actually helps in that dept since it reinforces price point. I kind of see what you're saying about RadioShack project box looks, but that general phenomenon is common in bass heads, and the Rumbles actually look better than most any of those (the Genz Benz Shuttle looks like a piece of lab equipment).

Hey all. I just picked up a Rumble 500 combo. Really liking it so far. Can I get a number?
