... ... .... Another option would be to put the pedals in the FX Loop. If I understand that correctly, the RETURN is post preamp (?).

Tim

Timbo, the FX Send gives a post preamp signal that may, or may not (as you wish), be plugged into the pedals. The pedals' output is then plugged into the FX Return, either adding their tones to the preamp signal, if the Send is used, or bypassing the preamp completely, if the Send is not used. Either way, set to test. :D

Thanks, Mr. Dog! I was kinda venturing out above my pay-grade.

G-Man, I had to read this about 16 times and each time became a bit more confuseder. Is that to suggest you can connect pedals by way of the FX Return WITHOUT using the FX Send? What would that connection chain look like? And where/how would the pedal effects integrate into the mix if NOT using the Send? Color me puzzled...

It's a very short connection chain. Bass >>> pedal(s) >>> FX Return. In effect, the pedal(s) is(are) your preamp! IF that gets the tone(s) you're seeking, at the volume you need, then that's sufficient.

But, depending on the design versatility of the pedal(s), that could be a pretty big IF. It's very possible that the pedal(s) really need the preamp's EQ (B/LM/HM/T and/or voicing) to shape the basic sound(s) for the final tone(s) you seek.

AH! The final connection is the FX Return and you're not using the top input. Yes? Thanks. I guess I never tho't skipping the main input as an option.

If I may take a shot at this, it seems to me you may be "overdriving" the clean channel. Not excessively, necessarily but it looks to me like you're using the gain for volume and vice versa. Adding to that, you're further boosting the gain TO the amp with the OD pedals. Add all that up and that may be causing your little "blinker." Maybe start by reversing the function of your GAIN knob and MASTER knob. Turn the GAIN down to 9:00 (or all the way down, for that matter) and use the MASTER as intended as the output volume control. Since you have OD pedals in the chain, the OD channel may be redundant. Or use the OD channel for effect and lose the pedal(s). If, on the other hand, I got this all wrong, I apologize for stepping out of my lane...

The O/D 'channel' is for MUTE. That's what the footswitch controls.:smug:

For some reason unlike some other Fender amps any presets you make or save can't be shared on their website.
However, I don't know if each preset you creates a file, so I don't see what stops people from sharing them, or people (myself included) could just write down our presets and share what we did?

Presets are shared through the Fender Tone app. Follow the steps in the link below: Invalid Link Removed

OK, first rehearsal with my Stage 800 and simply put, I'm blown away. I actually feel like a fool having lugged around a 72lb 410 cab all these years thinking it sounded better. I've only scratched the surface of this thing's capabilities and honestly I could go tonight and play a gig with it and be completely satisfied with just the presets.

The note definition is amazing. I could hear everything I was playing precisely and the way it sits in the mix with guitar and drums is perfect as is. I switched between Basic Rumble and KG800 most of the night and added the Modern Distortion on as needed. I am a convert!

Just took delivery of a [Rumble] 500. Oh man, it’s so much lighter than my 65lb B100R. Can’t wait to try it out tonight with my Origin Effects preamps.
