What’s the difference between the stage and non-stage version? I ordered the 2022 [Rumble 800 COMBO] assuming it was the best one yet but wasn’t aware of any differences

Finally got around to getting covers for my 1x12’s. Good fit, heavy-ish material and I dealt directly with the company instead of a third party. Made to order in the USA. The handle cut outs are just a smidge off center (3/8”?). Not enough for me to worry about. Because you never want to leave the house without protection.

Thank you. I loved bass ever since I started playing Rock Band. It’s what I move to at a concert. I’ve been using a Yamaha THR30II and I wanted to get the brand new Rumble 800 combo but I think I want the digital doohickeys of the stage model so I just canceled my order for the analog model. I see a used $700 Stage 800 for sale that I will likely spring for. It seems like it can do everything I’d ever want. I think I want to get a Rumble 115 to eventually go with it. How much more cabinetry can the Stage 800 handle? I was thinking ideal might be Stage 800 on top of a 210 on top of a 115

Whoa! vo! That is a 180 degree Bat-turn, for sure!! The Stage and the new 800 COMBO are use the same power amps, just different pre-amps. Beware of using the 300 continuous watt rated 115 cab alone with either 800 continuous watts rated amp, which could send 400 continuous watts to it when turned up!!! The 210 cab, however, was originally rated 350 continuous watts when introduced for use with the Rumble 500 head, which could put out 350 continous watts into an 8 ohm cab. But, with the introduction of the Stage 800 combo using exactly the same speakers as the 210 cab, it became clear that 350w rating was very conservative (if not premature). Obviously that 210 cab can actually handle 400 continuous watts when used with either 800 combo! But, both combos can drive two 8 ohm combos, putting "just" 267 continuous watts into each! So, the 115 is safe when used with either combo and another 8 ohm cab. How 'bout two 115s with your Stage 800?

Yes, if you use and like all the "digital doohickeys", as I most certainly do, then the Stage 800, or the Studio 40 in my case, can be your do-it-all Swiss Army bass amp. But, you gotta actually try it to see if it really is "your cuppa tea". To start with, browse the Stage & Studio manual (identical pre-amps, way different power amps) linked in the Stage & Studio section of your Rumble Club Wiki page. That'll give you a baseline for getting to know the physical box. Then check any other links in that section, such as the TONE APP sub-section about remote controlling your Stage!!!

Finally, use The Club's Rumble LT25, Studio 40 &Stage 800 sub-thread for discussing these great amps and leaving this main Club thread less complicated for all the non-modeling Rumblers, please.

Yeah, man, that dual 15" rig is awesome. Those speakers are exactly matched, even if the cabs differ. Yep, that's right, it's the same 300w driver in the 200 combo as in the cab! Great for acoustic coupling and sonic enhancement!

Hey G-Dog! Thanks amigo I’m glad to be here among my bass brethren and sisthren?? Prolly not a word but…….Haha. Yea I’ve been playing for a few years. Did some trench work at a couple of churches, joined a band and we did some shows, recorded an EP as well. The name was aerial drive. The songs are on YouTube. We had some good times with that but it fizzled in the end. Recently played with some work buddies and did some rock covers but I want more. I want the band that writes originals and all. I’m 52 and love all kinds of rock and metal mostly, but am ok with some pop and country too. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

PS: The Rumble Stage 800 combo comes with the 4-button MGT-4 Footswitch when new and it is an almost indispensable accessory!!! Essential for using the built-in Looper, Tuner and lots of other features! It costs $55-80 new, but is easily woth double that in functionality. Be sure it's included or significantly discounted if not!!!

I guess I never got around to applying for Rumble membership. Bought a Rumble 40 as my learning amp with the Sire U5. At this point, the gear is far better than the player. I hope to reverse that in time.

I am a sax player who has lost his way...and ended up trying to learn to play bass.

Been a sax/clarinet/flute player for >40 years (concert, orchestral, big band, pit orchestra). For some unexplained reason about a year ago decided to learn to play bass. I play bari sax a lot, so perhaps being part of the rhythm section is a part of my makeup. Perhaps it was admiration of 7-year-old Alejandra Villarreal from The Warning.

I set myself a $1000 budget for gear (BTW, getting a decent bass and amp is WAY cheaper than saxophones!). Bought a Sterling Ray 4HH in olive green and a Fender Rumble 40. Still had room in the budget remaining.

I will admit to struggling quite a bit with the left hand stretches. Too many years working in foundrys and shops I think. Added a Gretsch G2220 short-scale to the arsenal for 1/2 the price of my last sax mouthpiece purchase. The short-scale feels soo much better to me. Now have a Sire U5 to learn on.

Well, our Rumbler #889, @GonePlaid, only has about 20 years sax-duty on ya, but, like, 60 years of bass! Maybe y'all can have some sax talk! ​
