Fender Rumble Club

... ... So I could run the effects send to the board[?] Interesting. Is that pre or post the gain and volume control?

For the R40, R100, R200c & R500c the FX Send is post all EQ, Gain and volume controls, just like the XLR Out is. But, before you go thinking this is unsuitable for going to a sound board, please read some real life tests, testimonials, experiments and experiences on XLR Out Volume Levels on your Rumble Club Wiki page.

Like I always say, the XLR on a Rumble is absolutely no different than micing your amp on stage or in a studio. Micing an amp is post eq and master volume every time.

Finally got around to snagging a new case for my R500 head as had to borrow a truck (all my gear in the back) due to my jeep being… unhappy.

So far this HF case has been keeping everything nice and dry with all the rain we’ve been getting recently.

Nice! Also look at Pelican cases if you ever need to, waterproof, tough as nails, get the case with the size/dimensions you need and just cut the foam to fit (some have pick n' pluck foam) whatever you are putting in the case.

I have a few pelicans for other gear, a 1600 for misc crap and a 1750 for my P bass. I VASTLY prefer pelican or skb for cases. With this one, well, I needed something immediately to get the amp and its somewhat tattered bag out of the rain. For that purpose, it works great.

Understand and agree completely, so I won't bother you as you go shop for more pelican cases!! :D:thumbsup:

I did read through these things, I've been smacked down before for asking questions by others so was hesitant to even post. But that's why I was surprised to hear someone say that the Effects send would be an option as I understood it was post all controls. Everyone's situation is different. I had no luck with the Sansamp and was mostly looking to see if anyone had tried an attenuator mod like this was all.

And I guess that's my fault for not investigating that before buying the Rumble. I realize I could mic it but just don't want to. I play, sing, run the sound and lights so avoiding any extra mics on stage is what I was hoping for. It would probably work fine so may have to go that route.

I am still trying to figure out why the sansamp isn't working for you....

Although I wasn't really suggesting that you mic it, I've actually seen videos of what you do with your band and truly enjoyed it. It's the perfect band for so many places!

When connecting one Rumble to another via EFX send >EFX return, the controls of the sending amp also control the return amp. Meaning the settings you select will be what is sent-wherever you send it/them. So that's the overall sound that will go to the PA. Set the PA input flat-and adjust its volume-and the sound you hear will be the same sound the room hears. You can set your amp volume wherever you want it and raise/lower the level on the PA channel.

I would have loved to figure it out. I swear I spent a bunch of time with it unsuccessfully. I sold it again to another TB'er with the disclaimer that I had no luck with it. He had no issues. No matter where I set the levels I had the hiss. Sure that it was me.

Thank you for that. I just have alot on my plate and love the ease of connection that comes with the DI out. Just wish it had some control. Again, my issue for not knowing that going in. The old, clunky, ridiculously heavy (90 lb) Line 6 300 watt combo I traded in had that. Great feature. Maybe the next gen of Rumbles will come with it?

Yes I think I remember you discussing that method of chaining Rumbles together. Not applicable for me, one amp is enough. So unless I'm misunderstanding you the Send to the PA and volume out of the amp would be individually controllable? And that's not what others are saying. I'll just have to try it.

Not trying to be difficult here. Love my bandmates but for lack of a better word they are clueless on any PA assistance and it falls to me. Just want whatever solution to be easy to operate.

You set the knobs, which control the preamp, on the Rumble for the sound(stage monitor?)you wanna hear. You SEND to the PA channel input (set 'flat')and adjust its volume. The sound will(or should)be the same out front as what you're hearing on 'stage'.

No, that is not the case. With Rumble Amps the XLR out is after everything, so any changes you make on the amp will change what is going to the board and will like irritate the sound guy. You need to set the tone that works for you and the volume you want to hear on stage and let the sound man deal with the rest.

That's what I thought, just going off what he said I thought I'd try.

I'm back to muddling through. Thanks anyway.

Brief update on the R100s... I only carried one to play on Sunday; it was all I needed and I was feeling blah so didn't want to carry extra stuff. And it did great. BUT ... playing them both sounds so good at home that I really need to try them both live in a mix. So next time I'll kick myself in the butt and Just Do It! 2xR100 stacked definitely sounds fuller than 1xR00. A bit smoother and a bit punchier with my CP (Thunderbird Classic Pro), and more in your face with the Greco Thunderbird or the VP (Thunderbird Vintage Pro).

I'm sorry to hear you got smacked, and I really hope it didn't happen in this club. This is usually a very friendly, helpful club. I don't remember the last time we had to put someone's membership number in solitary, or even on probation. We welcome questions. You might get referred to the wiki, but that's just one form of helpfulness.
