Also a good idea if laying the amp on the side for 200 users like me wanting the 15 below the 10s, plug coming out right at ankle or shin height. I use a 6ft straight to angled between my pitch black and the amp, normally would have the angled at the pedal side, but might start putting it on the amp side just in case. Also good to use angles on p bass, less chance of it catching something and cracking the pickguard. I do have sone extra livewires like that, but tend to use my planet waves straights because they are better cables. I miss my wireless!
Not trying to be offensive here, but that is 100% absolute myth with zero scientific basis. That is a marketing scheme designed to make people think that X company with the arrows on their cables knows more about cable than anyone else.Sorry no pic, but yes, 200 on side with either 110 or 210 on top. Even if I took a pic I don't think iPhone let's you upload to websites, and no computer right now.
One thing people don't seem to know about shielded cables is they really are designed to go in one direction, but only higher ended cables are marked as such. This has to do with the direction of the sheild braid. So sometimes you have to sacrafice optimal tone in order to have the angled plug at the correct end... So maybe angled at both ends would be the way to go. Unfortunately, angled plugs don't work on some guitars, telecasters for instance. And the difference in sound between going in the right or wrong direction is usually pretty subtle anyway. Hence I didn't even know about it until I was 30 and in a studio and saw a cable that had the signal flow direction marked, and the engineer explained it. And I had live sound and recording arts educations too, and was never taught that, or maybe was absent that day, but it wasn't on any test lol.
I'm planning to. The Guitar Center by my house does not have them on the floor to play. I'll have to check another location and maybe go across town and see if Sam Ash has them. Thanks!
I have no problem getting a very nice warm tube vibe from the overdrive on my V2 Rumbles. Indeed I can absolutely nail Jack Bruce's natural tube distortion on 'Sunshine of Your Love', and also the Big Muff he used on Frank Zappa's 'Apostrophe'. Right along with points in between. The V3 overdrive is even better as many attest.WE worked up Mississippi Queen the other nite and just for fun I turned the overdrive on and bam Felix Peppelardi"s bass tone on that tune. I liked it and so did the band mates, I plan on using it on that track live. You work with it and you'll find the right amount to give you a nice tube like overdrive.
Hey guys and gals. Sorry for some reason my notifications on this thread aren't showing up. But a quick status check in... Jammed the snot out of the 500 combo + 210 cab stack last night, was playing the Jazz trying to get a particular sound, well I fiddled around with the EQ some, and decided to stomp on the Overdrive switch and start twisting knobs... Holy Swiss Cheese! Crunchy, overdriven, and just rowdy goodness coming out of all those speakers!
To paraphrase McD's I'm lovin it...
I wanted to add that I am not the only one who is not getting update notifications for this thread. Not sure why that is.
