Fender Rumble Club

View attachment 4916930 We’ve been stuck here for a week. First plow attempt had some success but I’ve never seen a 4x4 go sideways in a driveway.
Huge backhoe out there now. Good thing as beer supply is running dangerously low.
What a strange but not so strange, occurrence with all that snow you guys got. Hopefully you got your share for the year and I hope you guys come out safely. Did you get out yet?

Many moons ago, I had a client (Wilson Greatbatch) whose factory was a bit east of Buffalo. I was there once in the winter, when a high-volume snow storm hit. The parking lots of all of the shopping centers were used to store removed snow. The snow mountains were taller than the buildings. Buffalo was the first place were I saw cars with tall orange-tipped fiberglass poles mounted to the four corners of the car's bumpers, so you could see them approaching an intersection from a cross street. The orange tips were all you could see. That's a lot of snow!

Random thought: Just about the time our group picks up enuff bookings to justify the expense of a second R100, they'll raise the price.:banghead:
Oh, well. Still have my 200c-which I'll prolly use on our next gig-bigger room.:)

You may be able to get the R100 for 10% off $299. or less.

I recently sold my R200 for $369. We both bought our R200s at the old, lower price so, $369 wasn't bad.

The other thing is, Fender could discount the heck out of R200's like they did with the R115 cab. Then you would be stuck.

I am waiting to see what they do with announcements in the New Year.

@G-Dog here are my rumbles! Had the stage 800 for about a year and just got the 40 and the 2X10 cab a few weeks ago.

Just under the wire for 2022, Bp! @Bassplayer1586, you are now member #1570 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Please put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Please tell us a bit about yourself, Bp, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. You're sure to fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

Wow! :woot:
I done learned something on the first day of this New Year!
(If you already knew this, please just roll your eyes to yourself and give me a polite, "That's nice, G.")

Prologue:
Many of you here are probably familiar with [0]=289525&c[thread]=1118826']my frequent warnings about using a single 300 watt Rumble 115 cab(s) with the 400 watt Rumble Stage 800, Rumble 800 HD head and the new Rumble 800 COMBO, collectively called Rumble 800s. But a recent suggestion of setting the 800's Impedance Switch to its lowest ohm setting for a lower power output seemed a possible workaround, other than just simply keeping the volume down. :wideyed:

Epilogue:
Now, I have found confirmation that this is quite likely the case. When connecting a single 300 watt Rumble 115 cab to a Rumble 800, set the Rumble 800 HD head's Impedance Switch to 2 ohms, or the Rumble COMBO"s or Rumble Stage's Impedance Switch to 4 ohms, to lower the power output closer to the 115's 300 watt rating!

So, I now feel much better about all you Rumble 800 users with a Rumble 115 cab. I always cringed at the thought of overpowering those cabs! Now, I feel like your cabs are safer with this workaround. :D

Rumble On!
... into 2023 ...

I had struggled w getting the right tone out of the R200c. The right tone is very individual of course. And we don’t know what each one of us is REALLY speaking of unless we are there to hear in person. Let us be spared the gory words I might use to describe my unhappiness with the R200c. Using it at a couple of practice sessions I knew it was certainly powerful and loud enough on its own but I wasn’t a happy camper regarding the sound. With the delivery box nearby it was about to be repacked and sent back to the orphanage.

Enter my R115 cab from stage right. Hooked the two together and I found…music! I had searched for the sound and now I have it. The R200c can’t cut it on its own in terms of the sound I want but blossoms with the R115. (For others it certainly works, more power to you!)

The increase in wattage and doubling the speaker space is really fantastic. The tone fills out thick and unrestricted. Welcome, The Rumble’s coupling effect, great sound.

So, the R-115 galloped to the rescue, again. Great cabinet that brought the R200c to life.

And many thanks to all who encouraged me to keep trying and not give up on the Rumble combo!

Happy 2023!
