Fender Rumble Club

Yeah, Maarti, Greg's quite right, it is safe to run a Rumble's FX Send to another Rumble's Instrument Input. However, you will need to reduce the Gain of the second amp to keep from overdriving the signal, along with any other EQ adjustments for taste. Plus, as Greg says, it allows different volumes and EQs on the two amps! Way to go there, Greg!! ;)

In fact, for those FX Sends, that's the main way you should do it to reinforce the sound, unless you use the XLR Outs. Unlike the non-modeling Rumbles, the Stage & Studio FX Sends have a fixed level unaffected by the Master volume control!

.
Thanks, @GregT . And thanks @G-Dog for the reminder about the fixed volume level of the FX Send on the Studio 40. So, basically, I should set the Gain on the slaved 40 combo to its minimum (fully CCW, or anticlockwise; six to some, half a dozen to others ).

Too bad I can't get a 40 combo with black grille cloth. Oh, well. At least it's a way to get a 2x10 without having 500 watts blow out my neighbors. :bassist::hyper:

EDIT: Thomann is backordered several months on the 40 combo. Time to let the G.A.S. subside a bit. But the 90 cm Fender patch cable with 90 degree plugs to connect my Studio 40 to my non-existant 40 combo is available. First, there were air guitars. Now there are air amps. :roflmao:

Cain't never could! Did ya not read the last page o' The Club, Maart? There's paint, ya know.
.
My first TB three way! :roflmao:

Yeah, I know about the paint option, but I'd have to remove the Fender logo and the odds of me getting it back in EXACTLY the same place are zero. And that difference would drive me nuts. OK, more nuts than I already am. I'd have to remove the logo on the Studio 40 and go logoless.

Last week I was out playing and my Rumble 500 started cutting out midway through a song. It only lasted about 30 seconds then gave me no issues the rest of the night. Anyone else had this issue? Thoughts on what it could be?
Were you blasting it? Could be thermal overload protection if so.
It could be a dirty contact on the fx return jack.

Why did you delete the other two identical posts? Now no one else will understand. Not that that's not OK. Happens to me all the time. :help:

I don't believe I had any identical posts and certainly did not delete anything...my comment was more to do with how difficult it could be to re-install the logo and added a smiley because I thought the whole thing was humorous...just like this one is intended to be ;)!

If not blasting, like Miles said, check your FX Return jack here, and please advise back to us. :D

Not blasting it, master and gain are set around 10-11. I also have a rumble 2x10 extension cabinet hooked up to it, so I guess you could say it was "blasting" but I was definitely not pushing it too hard

Well, hot air temperature and lack of good ventilation could also trigger thermal protection mode without cranking the volume.

And, since it was just a short time problem it will be difficult to tell now if cleaning the FX Return helps. But, it can't hurt! OR, just keep an instrument cable plugged in to the FX Send only. Then, if the problem happens again, just plug the other end into the FX Return to see if that fixes it.

I haven't had this issue with my Rumble, but i have had it happen with other class D amps (twice), and it was always caused by a sketchy power source at a venue. I have read in other forums about this happening with other brands as well. The first time it happened was with my Carvin B500...I switched it out that night with my old Peavey Tmax and never had a problem again that night. Incidentally, the Carvin never cut out again either...even though that amp has a well documented issue with them cutting out. Same thing happened with a Ampeg SVT 7pro I had...it cut out a few times at a gig where the power distribution/regulation was an issue with other equipment that night.
As it stands, my Rumble is now the only Class D amp I own now. My Mesa M6, Peavey Tmax, Behringer BX 4500, and my GK 1001RB have never had a hiccup ;)

When your post first showed up, I got 3 notifications, and TB displayed three identical posts. So, it was a TB issue.

Hey everyone. I stopped into my local GC last night and lo and behold, they actually had a 500 in stock (they never do...its always the "entry level" stuff). Anyway, I plugged in as I was on my way home from practice and gave it a shot. I liked everything I heard, the 210 handled the low B just fine and there was plenty of headroom. They ONLY thing I wasn't sold on was trying to get a sort of hi-fi clean sound in addition to everything else it does. Everything I did sort of had a wooly sound to it (if that makes sense). Maybe its the nature of the 210 as I haven't had one in a looooong time?

So my question to those who know, is it possible? What settings should I be looking at? If it will do it, I might add it to the herd.

For reference, my current rigs are a Magellan 350 into a Bergantino AE112 for practice, a GK MB212ii for out and about if the Berg isn't enough or if sound is REALLY needed a Genz Contour 500 115 with the matching 15 Focus cab. All are run clean with MINOR EQ as most comes from my bass or DI. I would probably sell one to finance the Rumble if I can get the sound I like.

See the Rumble Club Wiki for helpful hints, but-in general-flat on a Rumble(clock settings)is BASS-10, LO MID-2, HI MID-2, TR-10, then your bass/DI settings should be close.

I think you've already answered your own question here...heheheh...you already have some very nice clean,"hi-fi" amps, and you already have the GK MB212 which is an outstanding combo, so I think you're trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. The Rumble series IS what it IS, and they have an inherent tone...much like Ampegs have their own sound. That Rumble 500 210 is not ever going to sound like a GK, and it doesn't have anything to do with the 2x10 configuration...IMO;)

Gotcha, Thanks for the reply. I like the idea of being able to drop into a vintage style tone, and I really liked what I heard, so I may still give it a shot. Thanks!

something we often forget about our Rumbles is the might BRIGHT switch. Keep gain low, Activate the Bright switch, cut some of the LOW Mid, and there you are. To my ears it IS quite modern. The bright switch help to bring out all the fine details in tone to a level reminding me my former Mesa D800+. I dont think itll get you in GK territory but it will do the modern hi-fi thing quite nicely. The Rumble cabs have an inherent annoying and boomy frequency to them that cant be EQed out. I didnt find so on their 500 combos though. That should help you getting started

I assume that you have the tweeter switched ON for this setting?
