Fender Rumble Club

Actually, not unusual. I think the wood (or laminate strand) baffle made in Ensenada, Mexico shrinks when it goes from 80% humidity to the 10% to 30% humidity of Corona, CA (although we are having a rarely humid day today.
In times past I had a similar situation with my Rumble 150 and before that, with a Jazz-King. Simple fix: tighten the mounting screws a bit.

... ... friend asked me if I knew of any Fender Rumbles for sale. "Nah, not interested", I said, "Never looked at them and don't care." ... ... After three weeks straight with this little amp I was hooked. One of my other bassist friends. ... assured me that it would do what I wanted it to. I didn't believe him at the time. Now I do. A couple three months ago I went and bought one. I was excited. My first NEW amp in 20 years. I got it home and it buzzed ... ... I'm going to solve this once and for all. .... What do I find? Three of the eight speaker bolts are loose. ... .. I use my drill driver set to a low torque and torque the screws and go around again and retorque at the higher setting. ... ... I also added some quilt poly fill donated by my long suffering wife. A good friend bought a Rumble 100 and his sang on the "A" note. It got the same treatment and now it, and he, is happy.
My story and I'm stickin to it.

OutSTANDING, Funken man! Thanks for the background. I love a story where the main character experiences true emotional growth. Welcome!, again!

The Rumble 100 has been getting a whole lotta love around here lately. Some stack and chain two of them together, and some are happy with just one. Some add a bit of acoustic fill or liner, since it doesn't come with any (unlike the 200 & 500), and some don't. Some just "put a sock in it"; a port, that is. The stock speaker is really quite good for this application, but some disparage it and spend $$$ on replacements with various results! Some play through a pedal into the FX Return to get "their sound", and some play straight into the amp's preamp with no effects. It's quite versatile overall. Rumble On!

I posted this on the Fender Mike Kerr sig bass thread but figured I'd double dip and post a Rumble update.

After much hemming and hawing and looking through all types of local amp listings, I figured I'd just go with the Rumble 2/10 extension above all else including (but not limited to) the Fender 4/10. This way I can carry one in each hand and walk. The extension is slightly heavier but manageable. The 4/10 is ~70 lbs IIRC? That imbalance would be sub-optimal.

This should be loud enough for most applications.

Au contraire, mi amigo, 'rique-o! The 410 cab is a mere 62.5 lb.s!! A trifle for a big, strong, young stallion like your bad self. :D In fact, you should get two, since your 800 can push 'em both! One 410 in each hand is a walk in the park for studs like you!

That's a future endeavor.

The Rumble 800c full sound potential pressure project.

And yes I am strong as I train every day in addition to practicing every day.

Pics of me flexing (overhead Rumble press) in a RHCP tube sock forthcoming....

Oh oh, problem with the R200c. A hum/noise has developed and getting louder the last two days. It also sounds like distortion type short is happening simultaneously. Get this even with no instrument cable plugged in. No hum when I use headphones. Tried the input jack in/out troubleshooting re FX return. Did no good. I've only had this amp since Nov 2022, ggggrrrrr.

BUT! Talk Bass Rumble forum to the rescue. Resolution - turned every EQ knob to the extreme left/right about twenty plus times and it cleared up the noise/hum problem! Not that it mattered, but I had the amp off when I executed this delicate procedure.

Thanks to all who shared their similar problem and all the fixit advice.

Ex-cell-lenté, Charles!! Glad it was a simple fix! :woot:

But, since Nov 2022 is currently well within the 2-year 7ender warranty for new purchases. If you hadn't found a fix, an Authorized Fender Service Center certainly could have made it right. ;)

“(or laminate strand)”…. It’s OK you can call it plywood.

after a long year (and more to come) with a Rumble 40, I can join this club :D

I've had a Rumble 500 a few years ago, but changed it for a Mark Bass 121h, for the better mid presence (better for my needs), but last year I bought the Rumble 40 for the need of a small amp for small gigs.

well, during this year the Rumble 40 has been my main amp even in outside gigs, it can handle a drum in small pubs, works perfectly as a stage monitor when I can send my signal to the PA, even outside, and I like the overdrive used at low gains, so much I bought a switch pedal to use it.

the big Mark Bass it's collecting dust, and for an year I've used it only for two gigs where I couldn't sent the bass signal to the mixer, so I needed the amp as my only sound-source.

today I'd probably stick with a Rumble 500 for this matter, but here in Italy is so hard to find a used one, and also to sell the Mark Bass...

Good morning everyone it's been a while but work & family life, just seem to take you away from your favorite hobbies that you love so much.
After a long while I've finally got round to playing through my Rumble 200 combo again it had been left in a corner i and I'd forgot how good, this combo sounded with all EQ at noon & the vintage switch on & the horn off so simple but so nice as well,
Using my Am.Std P with flatwounds or my '64 Hofner 500/1 bass again with flatwounds, sounds so good through this combo I'd forgot about that that.
I've had this combo since Jan 2015 & honestly can't see me changing this now the only thing I, would like to get one day would be a Rumble 200 head as a headphone amp.
