Howdy folks!
Just picked up a
Rumble 800 today. Great amp! Just have to get used to the 2x10 configuration versus the 1x15 I am used to with the Traynor on the left of the picture below. That Traynor is actually a Godly little combo (especially to a Canadian like myself) that produces enough low end to warrant a visit from a seismologist. Is all that low end really necessary is the question when considering what we supposedly lose in a single 1x15. Surely speaker size alone doesn't mean the world when so many other things are at play.
I started playing bass in 2001, then almost immediately became a drummer by default. Then in 2017 I got into electric guitar for several years, and now more recently I finally picked the bass back up. Immediately recalled why I loved it so much.
Anywho, since I last looked into it, the OG 1x15 config might not be considered as practical as it once was, and that Traynor lacks an ext out for a 2x10 cab. There was a Rumble 800 nearby so I quickly snatched it up. It's nice to know I can add a 15" to it down the road if need be. This amp definitely is of an entirely different flavor than the Traynor, and it seems like it will definitely make more sense on stage.
Currently playing around with the options the amp offers, such as the vintage switch. I certainly dig the sounds I am getting from it.
Finally, no I don't normally lean my instruments against the amps like that. Just for photos!
