I like the Neutrik Silent Plugs, used them for many years.Volume is not your problem.
Bear in mind that the Zeroāth rule includes unplugging guitars from a hot PA system.
I just bought a Jhs in line guitar cable mute switch. Indispensable.
My R100s can squeal when powering off if not muted, using a PA or no. Mute before powering off.Hi guys, when I turn off my Rumble 100 and itās plugged into the sound system, it make a loud squealing sound through the PA. Is this normal? As it is now, I have to make sure the pa is turned off or my channel is muted, THEN turn off the amp. Other than that, all seems to be good.

So same venue, same rig, one day I had the cabs stacked, another day I had them side by side on risers. I didn't notice any difference in sound or dispersion. Of course, I was on the stage. But my Husband was doing sound, using an iPad, from about 20 yards in front of the stage. He didn't notice any difference in sound either. Just an FYI.
Interesting details to learn about.Side by side placement forces LESS sound coupling on the sides of the stage and it throws the sound coupling forwards. As you move sideways from the speakers, you lose coupling because the delay between one speaker and the next reaches its maximum. When you stack them up, you move this effect to the ceiling and floor, effectively giving you less low frequency coupling out front, but better dispersion side to side because respective to the cabinet stack no matter where you move in your listening position the speakers will couple more effectively. If you were to hover over the stage on a stacked setup, you could hear the cancellation, but as you stand in front of it there is less cancellation with a stack of speaker but 1/2 the coupling with the floor
in side by side, if your sitting in front of each stack, aside from moving one cabinet farther from your ears you couple with the floor with both cabinets better so this would be null and void if you dial in rounder tones. If you like the highs, id stick to a stack setup. YMMV, rock on.
I bought the 500 and wish I had bought the 800! The 500 works for all my needs (I also got a 210-ext. cab) But the 800 is lighter more powerful, has speakon connector for the speaker out and a pre/post switch for the DI! Some day I may get me one!I owe a thank you to the people here. I spent a lot of time lurking, reading the posts here and bought a Rumble 800 combo. My background is decades of acoustic guitar, but I've been playing some bass for a little over a year now. I bought a used Rumble 15 to practice, but it's become inadequate. The 800 is probably more amp than I'll ever need but I wanted to err on that side rather than regretting buying less. The sound is awesome, it's under 30 lbs, and the price for what you get is great value.
29 lbs. for the win!I bought the 500 and wish I had bought the 800! The 500 works for all my needs (I also got a 210-ext. cab) But the 800 is lighter more powerful, has speakon connector for the speaker out and a pre/post switch for the DI! Some day I may get me one!

Glad you stayed.ill stick around i guess... im just gonna stick to Fender content here.
You seem to have technical ideas and experimental theories based upon and from a playerās point of view. A good thing.its super interesting how two speakers interact. I claim to be able to tell if a cabinet is a 410 or 210 based on its dispersion into the room. Or 115. I can hear the driver interaction if Im able to move around freely. That interaction of course gets bigger when you amplify that space between drivers and this is simply because there is time delay of each driver based on the listener. The drummer takes the biggest hit in a side by side configuration, but this might be a good thing. Consider a drummer with a monitor that doesn't need to hear as much of your lows blurring his monitor tone, side by side those thangs as far away from his ears as you can and let the sound tech's monitor go.
I like to study subwoofer phase plots for fun, im autistic like that.
Cardioid/Directional Subwoofer Arrays, Part 1 | FOH | Front of House Magazine This is fascinating to me for a few minutes.
how do i un-ignore someone... :hides: nevermind.. fbofw
