Yeah, so far I've only used it in the guitar room, and yes really only on the Low setting. Even quiet, my bass sounds a lot more full than it ever did on the R15.
I'm 66. I started playing acoustic guitar when I was 12 and have always been pretty passionate about it. I've played in a few very low key bands over the years, starting with a bar band at 17 (I've very lightly dabbled with electric guitars and basses in the past), a lot of solo playing on the couch or around the campfire. Most of my life I've been playing in church settings, which is where I was asked if I'd try the bass about a year and a half ago. I dusted off an 80's Ibanez bass and bought a used Rumble 15 to practice through. Earlier this year I bought a Charvel 5 string PJ which I've really been enjoying.
Buying the Rumble 15 wasn't a waste, it was pretty cheap and gave me the ability to practice at home, but I felt it was starting to limit me. I did a lot of reading, especially on Talkbass, keeping my eyes open for a suitable used amp. I had hard time finding anything. I had already been eyeing the larger Rumble's, especially the 800. I found one that was a demo, so I went for it. I'm very sure I will never outgrow it. It has all the features and power, at a very light weight at a pretty great price point.
Thanks for welcoming me here!
