Fender Rumble Club

I see a new slogan here. Fender Rumble amps: Loosening bowels in a county near you ;)

When I first started playing with my new band, I brought both the 500 combo and the 210 cab. Since I can't turn it up at home without being evicted with extreme prejudice, I would test out the capabilities of the rig during rehearsal. I was being a bit judicious with my use of the master knob for the first couple of rehearsals. Just before the third rehearsal, the singer says "I think we can all turn down a bit (looking directly at me while saying this) before my ears bleed". Message received! I think my master was set to just under noon, and it was shaking the room :D

When I was in a metal band, I would have loved to have had this rig. The one I had at the time was almost, but not quite, as powerful but lacked definition. It was still loud enough to compete with the gorilla on drums and the two guitarists with full Marshall stacks. That should be no problem for the this Rumble rig.

I really only need to bring the combo for rehearsal, it's been able to do the job very well without any issues.
Hmmm... I think I need a strategy to get the band to turn down just a bit, especially guitars...

According to seller, he's holding the Rumble 150 for me to pick up Saturday morning. I was yammering on about this a couple pages back...

Gonna try to start haggling at $150--$1 per watt!--he's asking $195. Seems a great deal for an amp he says has 5 hours' playing time on it and 2 years of the warranty left.

A lot of money for me. I am hoping this Rumble will be my ticket back to jamming with other people and gigging again.

Also hope I don't encounter people who will make fun of me over my meager gear. My basses are both heavily modded cheap P copies.

Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club, Muddslide! :woot: You are member #454 :hyper:
Actually $195 is a fair price. Good Luck, and as always  Rumble On!

Thanks! Wasn't it you who went off to see McCartney a night or two ago? Hope it was a blast! He's among my favorite players. Love to hear what instruments he was using.

Oh, and I agree about the $195 being a good price, but that doesn't mean I won't try to talk him down a bit (without beating him up with lowball offers.)

The only other used Rumble 150 I've found is at a pawn shop nearby and they are asking $320.

First test of my 500 combo on an average stage. What to say? Louder than my Ampeg PF500, best sound compared to two or three Markbass i've used on stage.. Gain and master were at 11h00 and i had any problem to hear me, no bass in my wedge and drummer hear me well also. Pics taken during sound check. This amp remember me the '90 SWR Redhead 2X10" combo but lighter with many more balls..

I am trying to justify purchasing a V3 210 or 112 to go with the 500 combo. I just don't see a setting where I would *need* it. You Rumblers that have such a rig, you could get by with just the combo 99% of the time, yeah?

Depends on the venue. Planning on bar gigs? The combo should be enough. Larger venues? Depends on if there's PA support, or if it's outdoors. And, the type of music you play and the make up of the band. I got the 210 because I can see instances where I will need it, but in the end it all comes down to you needs.

That's the thing. I don't need the headroom at rehearsal and I haven't needed it at any gigs, although we haven't really done any rooms over 450/500 capacity. I have yet to need my master past 11 o'clock, playing stuff like Paramore and Foo, going through FOH here and there. But yeah, mostly bar gigs. I pull out the 500 head and V2 410 when I'm not sure, but the V3 cabs look super sweet.

You mean you don't really need it but you end up wanting it anyway - probably just like me :D.
Just wait until you see a good offer come by...

Here's my newly acquired Rumble 500 V3 flanked by my FSR Jazz and 94 Precision.

I'm in an apartment so I haven't been able to give it a good shakedown yet. I'm thinking I will take it to rehearsal tonight to break it in. Looking forward to gigging with this beast this weekend!

I love how they went back to the classic grille look on the newer Rumbles.

Someday I hope I have need of a 500. Congrats on the score!

Well, financial situation has arisen. Will not be able to buy the Rumble 150.

In fact, not only can I no longer afford the amp, will probably be selling the rest of all other music gear I own. After 35+ years of playing, looks like I'm out of the game. Permanently this time. I was a fool to think I'd ever be able to buy anything or get back into gigging. Time to give it up and pack it in.

Thanks for being cool, everyone.

We're all sorry to hear that bit of bad news @Muddslide. We wish you well.
