Fender Rumble Club

Well, took possession of my Rumble 500w head today, loving it so far. Any tips on how you all set up the eq etc to get your favourite sounds would be appreciated.
Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club, ausbassman! :woot: You are member #478 :hyper:
Just look for the Tone Pool post and you'll find a link to suggested tone settings. It just got started yesterday, so it will take some time to get rolling.
 Rumbles Rock! :smug:

Excellent! I still can't believe how good Rumbles sound in a room.
For settings, check out post #6821! It is something new. Maybe after you find your favorite setting, you can post it there also.

I saw it.
I am too inexperienced to try to edit it.
I bookmarked it.

Mr. Clawhammer... nothin' to it.
It's a fill-in-the-blanks sort of deal.

Click on the first blank line and type. When done with a category, either click on the next "cell" or hit the "TAB" key and the next cell to the right will become outlined in blue. Any typing appears in the blue-outlined cell.
The organization is in rows and columns. Each row is one entry and there is a separate column for each category or setting.

New topic. ..

How about posting a list of all the sticky strongly held "opinions" here on talk bass that the majority follows the leader on.

#1 would have to be the mixed cabs topic. I tracked the source down to a consortium of equipment manufacturers that realized they would sell more equipment if everybody had to buy 2 of the same cabs in order to have a rig free of talkbass ridicule. Mixing and matching is counterproductive to cabinet sales, especially if each of your cabs is a different brand.

Recently stumbled on another one which immediately struck me as a gross spread of misinformation I had to bite my tongue on. Apparently it is now a MYTH that pushing an underpowered solid state to the point of full on square waves blows speakers... in case you didnt see it the thread was called "so my speakers caught fire"

Apparently everything I learned about solid state amplification in audio engineer school was make believe. So this guy blows up 2 speakers in a goliath running an ancient 100w amp with a crazy homemade fuzz and everything BUT the under powered amp is the reason, because after all, that FACT of amplification has been deemed a myth here on talkbass.

I would like a list of all these sticky topics so I know what to avoid getting involved with.

And I hope linnin didn't put me on ignore over the power rating of the 210 vs 410 thing a few days ago.

I feel there are no such topics in Rumble club. Everything can be discussed and all can have their opinions. Everyone also have right to disagree. Don't let it put you down, that sometimes it's the majority that disagrees :)

Also, never mind the "consortium of equipment manufacturers". Do what makes your playing sound and feel good and let others do what they wish to do. So mix and match as much as you like and rumble on.

Peace.

I was 100% joking about the consortium. But seeing people say it was a myth about underpowered amps blowing up speakers was like whaaaaaa????

I know this is a more peaceful corner of talkbass, but I was hoping to get info from people who are more active on the forum and have encountered more of these phenomena. Since I do poke around the rest of the forums from time to time.

I am an equal opportunity gear freak, but 3 fenders and 3 warwicks in my bass stable is the bulk of it. 95 deluxe telecaster and 93 duosonic are my current fender guitars, though I did have an 89 usa strat but financial reasons forced sale. First guitar was squierII india hss strat and first bass was squierII korea p-bass flat body. Still have the body of that strat (truss rod gave out) and the p is in pieces (someone cracked the horn and I cut it off) awaiting a rebuild eventually, need to paint it first.

Going to the next fender string promo for sure, the cost of bass strings is worth the drive.

Nooo! Accidentally removed something from the tone pool spreadsheet and I can't reverse it, just letting you guys no, sorry
You can go to the menu bar: File | See revision history and restore it to a previous setting if something went wrong.
If someone wants to be the Tone Pool web master, it may also be wise to setup up the Tools | Notification rules... or maybe Tools | Protect sheet...

Thanks! In other news, really loving the amp, got a day there just to mess around with it properly and it is sounding great! Really loving Linnin's Classic Tube Bassman settings.
