If you want a quality speaker cable, make it yourself, is my advice.

I make a lot of my own cables also. I always use Neutrik Silent Plugs for my instruments so I can unplug them and change to a different one. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't solder well, or at all. I still buy cables also because you can get a good cable pretty reasonably priced these days. Right now I am in the middle of a Stratocaster rewire job that someone had difficulty soldering. Big globs of solder on the pots that I just cut off with wire cutters. But I agree that making your own cables is great advice. Learning to solder is also, for those who don't know how.If you want a quality speaker cable, make it yourself, is my advice.
not meaning any offense to anyone, but you're saying this to someone who thinks there are balanced speaker cables? If you want a quality speaker cable, make it yourself, is my advice.
Learning everything about your instrument, especially the electronics, and especially especially learning to not be intimidated by soldering, is great advice. But as for making cables - I have done it, but find that now it's cheaper to just buy them. Gotta buy good ones, though. And for those not in the know: SpeakOn ends don't require soldering, they are screw-on.I make a lot of my own cables also. I'd say your B.A.C. is probably too low.Can you believe I've owned both a 500 combo and a 1x15 cabinet for months and I've never run them together? What's wrong with me?
I think he ought to put on a provisional status in this club. Clearly not a real Rumbler...I'd say your B.A.C. is probably too low.![]()
Not a strange cab, but the only other than my Rumble 112's. Went to a jam that had a crap Kustom head on top of an older British made Celestion loaded Trace Elliot 2x15. Off came the Kustom and on went the Rumble 350. Tweaked the EQ for the cab and the room. Sounded pretty good. Got compliments from the owner.Ok, this gives me another thought - what's the strangest cab to which you've attached your rumble amp?
Rumble Forth & Conquer!
"... feeling a shock..." - something isn't right. Static? There should be nothing returning from the amp - check wiring/grounds? Plug into different amp/etc.? Definitely report back after, (preferably before) rehearsal. Get that sorted. So, right out I'm loving the 500 combo. But recently I've been feeling a shock and hearing a bit of popping? Very strange and kinda scares me to really dig in like I love to. Different outlet maybe, but it isn't what I'd expect lol. First rehearsal with it is next week! Will post back about that then.

Happy New Year,
I use a 500 combo in a classic rock band, sometimes with a 210 extension cabinet. Generally really happy with the sound, vintage button engaged. But the sound is generally a bit too "boomy" with the vintage engaged....may go back to it being off, and more volume & oomph on the bass. Has anybody else sensed this regarding the Vintage button??
Thank you very much, @gsgbass. I appreciate your kind comments.Very well stated Sir. A very credible post.![]()
Based on this post, I ordered the padded covers for my 500 and 2x10 ext cab. The website says that the handle on the 500 is top dead center. But, a reviewer says that it's actually not centered. I called Larry, he is aware, and is making adjustments. My covers were made to order, and went out the same day that I ordered them. I ordered them on Dec 30, and I will have them next week.I buy LeCover covers for all my equipment, Larry is the best!

Larry said that he has sold 25 of these covers, and only one person mentioned that it was off. It couldn't be off by very much. He said he got the specs from Fender. I've bought four covers from Tuki. They're nice, but the new Rumbles have not been listed on their website.I just checked my 500 combo w/cover, and you are correct, it's "slightly" off.....but until you mentioned this, it hadn't even occurred to me, it's that close. The cover slots provide a little room on either side of the actual handle, so it wasn't a noticeable issue for me. I have LeCovers on my 500 Combo, 210 cab, 115 cab & 40 combo....![]()
