Fender Rumble Club

If you want a quality speaker cable, make it yourself, is my advice.
I make a lot of my own cables also. I always use Neutrik Silent Plugs for my instruments so I can unplug them and change to a different one. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't solder well, or at all. I still buy cables also because you can get a good cable pretty reasonably priced these days. Right now I am in the middle of a Stratocaster rewire job that someone had difficulty soldering. Big globs of solder on the pots that I just cut off with wire cutters. But I agree that making your own cables is great advice. Learning to solder is also, for those who don't know how.

Learning everything about your instrument, especially the electronics, and especially especially learning to not be intimidated by soldering, is great advice. But as for making cables - I have done it, but find that now it's cheaper to just buy them. Gotta buy good ones, though. And for those not in the know: SpeakOn ends don't require soldering, they are screw-on.

Edit: and don't waste your money on Monster cable. For speaker cables, good quality brand name is more than adequate. lamp cord will work, so you can see it's not that big a deal.

Ok, this gives me another thought - what's the strangest cab to which you've attached your rumble amp?
Not a strange cab, but the only other than my Rumble 112's. Went to a jam that had a crap Kustom head on top of an older British made Celestion loaded Trace Elliot 2x15. Off came the Kustom and on went the Rumble 350. Tweaked the EQ for the cab and the room. Sounded pretty good. Got compliments from the owner. :bassist: Rumble Forth & Conquer! :bassist:

I hope this is not against the rules but if it is, moderators, feel free to delete this post...

I'm about to post a brand new Fender rumble Rumble 500 combo in the add section.

I've got this combo brand new combo from an insurance claim. I already have another rumble and don't need this one.

I'd prefer to ship to Canada but i'm open to ship elsewhere.

If you want a good deal on a 500 combo feel free to send me a pm.

So, right out I'm loving the 500 combo. But recently I've been feeling a shock and hearing a bit of popping? Very strange and kinda scares me to really dig in like I love to. Different outlet maybe, but it isn't what I'd expect lol. First rehearsal with it is next week! Will post back about that then.

"... feeling a shock..." - something isn't right. Static? There should be nothing returning from the amp - check wiring/grounds? Plug into different amp/etc.? Definitely report back after, (preferably before) rehearsal. Get that sorted.

Happy New Year,

I use a 500 combo in a classic rock band, sometimes with a 210 extension cabinet. Generally really happy with the sound, vintage button engaged. But the sound is generally a bit too "boomy" with the vintage engaged....may go back to it being off, and more volume & oomph on the bass. Has anybody else sensed this regarding the Vintage button??

I have just the same experience as you, only thing the vintagebutton does is make a great sounding amp sound like a boomy mess, however the bottom end in my bassguitar is pretty damn fat :)

Happy New Year Fender Rumble Club!

2015 has been one hell of a year! We started out on page 155 and now we are at 445. #308 was our first new member of the year, and now we are up to member #566. Not quite double, but damn close. We continue to hold onto first place as the fastest growing club on TalkBass.

Fender Bass Amplification continues to be the best selling line of bass amps world wide, with the Fender Rumble 500 combo as the global market leader in bass amp sales. I am not sure if total Rumble 500 sales have surpassed the previous global sales leader, the Fender Rumble 150 combo, but if not it will soon.

The music industry as a whole has been in a serious global decline for some 15 years or more. In America the aftermath of ‘The Great Recession’ and the continued decline of the American middle class is no small cause for socio-economic concern. Sales of musical instruments and related electronics seem to have found a soft pillowy bottom, but sales of basses and bass amps continue on a glide path down to who-knows-where.

True growth is nonexistent in a declining industry. In order to increase sales, one must compete fiercely yet openly and honestly. This is exactly what F.M.I.C. has done. You have to out compete your competitors and take market share away from them. Fender has done this by increasing the quality of their guitars, and basses from their Squier line, Made In Mexico Fenders, and their ultra-premium made in U.S.A. Fenders.

The same can be said of Fender Amplifiers. They are the very best that money can buy, and have been since 1946. The fairly new Fender Champion 100 2x12 guitar combo and its counterpart, the Fender Rumble 500 2x10 bass combo are the best selling amplifiers in the world today.

I expect 2016 to be yet another year of growth and excellence for the Fender Rumble Club; Fender Bass Amplification, and Fender Musical Instruments Company.

 Rumble On!

Very well stated Sir. A very credible post.

I buy LeCover covers for all my equipment, Larry is the best!
Based on this post, I ordered the padded covers for my 500 and 2x10 ext cab. The website says that the handle on the 500 is top dead center. But, a reviewer says that it's actually not centered. I called Larry, he is aware, and is making adjustments. My covers were made to order, and went out the same day that I ordered them. I ordered them on Dec 30, and I will have them next week.

I just checked my 500 combo w/cover, and you are correct, it's "slightly" off.....but until you mentioned this, it hadn't even occurred to me, it's that close. The cover slots provide a little room on either side of the actual handle, so it wasn't a noticeable issue for me. I have LeCovers on my 500 Combo, 210 cab, 115 cab & 40 combo.... :)

Larry said that he has sold 25 of these covers, and only one person mentioned that it was off. It couldn't be off by very much. He said he got the specs from Fender. I've bought four covers from Tuki. They're nice, but the new Rumbles have not been listed on their website.
