Appreciate the info, I thought effects loop was an instrument level signal. It was just an experiment - nothing was damaged, but I won't try it again.You are trying to do something that isn't supported at any level. If you blow up the front end of the R40 by plugging R100 EFFECTS SEND to the R40 instrument INPUT, I'm betting Fender would be able to detect that and deny any warranty you might be trying to claim. If you are trying to feed the R40 through AUX IN, you probably won't blow anything up, but I wouldn't expect much. Everything I've said here can be deduced by looking at the block diagram. If you can't make sense out of the block diagram, I STRONGLY suggest you restrict your usage of the amplifiers to what OWNER'S MANUAL says. Unless you just want to experiment and have enough money to buy more equipment after you ruin yours.
RedVee - I think the other experiment was Effects Send from one amp to Effects Return on the other amp, not effects send to Input.
