While we're on a vintage roll here...

What I want is a fedora hat made out of vintage Fender tweed.

Anyone know where I can buy one?

I wrote Fender and said: "If you make it, they will come."

www.speakerbuildersupply.com is the best place I know of for the tweed, the trick is making the hat!

Great idea. I'm sure a local (to you) milliner would be able to make one to your specs/wishes/style etc. ..

Not quite as simple as that. First: getting a custom hat made is mostly $500-$900. Yikes! That's assuming a hat can be made from the material you can get from Speaker Builder Supply.

Maybe a small vacation to Panama may be in order!

Not quite as simple as that. First: getting a custom hat made is mostly $500-$900. Yikes! That's assuming a hat can be made from the material you can get from Speaker Builder Supply.

Maybe with something along the lines of a fender guitar strap for a hat band on that hat. With a little creativity, it would be your Fender hat. At that price, you don't really have much to loose. You could even take one apart for a pattern.

Edit: Maybe try a little aged tint spray lacquer on one to give it the old Fender case look.

Here's one for you fellow Rumble-fans.....

I've mostly gigged with my 500 and 115 cab. Never had to go above 1/4 on volume - we're only a pub band/R'n'B trio.

I played a gig last week with just the 500, as it was a particularly small venue, and didn't even have to push the above 1/4, either.

I'm changing the car this week, and the result will make it easier to just take the amp to gigs. Seeing as I don't ever have to really push it, that idea seems cool.

Question is, do I remember reading somewhere on the Club that the amp really comes alive when you really open it up, and let it roar a bit? If that's the case, then I was thinking that to save taking the rig and never going above 1/4 on the volume, just take the amp, and let it rip?

I also have the 500 but with the 210 extension cab. I have never brought the 210 cab on a gig as of yet, as the combo covers most small to medium sized venues with ease. I have the 210 in case, but really only used it with my Genz STM-900 with great success.

For the people who are interested: I did a mod to my Rumble V3 100 so I can use the internal amp and speaker separately meanwhile also upgrading the stock speaker.

I ordered 1 beige and 1 brown of the $5.99 hats from Amazon.
I think I'll pick up a Fender tweed strap while I'm out this afternoon! Or maybe get a strip of amp material from one of the amp building supply places. Trim it with a little brown leather.

I thought about using different colored connectors to better distinguish them but Neutrik only seems to offer the greeny combo ones.

I have another amp here at the house that has the black ones on it, wishing all the time it has the green ones! But I understand the reasoning why they only put the black ones on it.. being that it is a "800 watt" amp!

Amp with no cab? I mean, I guess you could, but I never would. I need to have sound waves at my feet, otherwise I don't feel right.

Recent lurker on these pages, reading as many pages as I can. Bobs your uncle, I'm now an owner. Newly purchased a Rumble v3 combo, and matching 210 cab. Excellent sound. Will post more once I get my settings going. So far very loud and full. Number please....
