Should I put an Ampeg badge on my Rumble? Crown badge on my Behringer?
Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club @gazbass!Just to wade in again...the rumble 410 cabs are not heavy and stack beautifully. And yes when played through my EBS head they spank my Ampeg SVT810. Spank it into submission. Band agrees. No contest.

I take it "BL" stands for Big Loser. My "BL" says my Rumble 100 (+210 extension on another power amp) is "good for practice"... Then he says I need an Ampeg or Hartke combo for a gig.

Maybe it is the number 100 he doesn't like, doesn't consider that enough herbs for a gig?I wouldn't say that, but it is frustrating to have an imaginary problem with my tone.
Why not just get the rig (s)! you like and let BL get with the programme?I wouldn't say that, but it is frustrating to have an imaginary problem with my tone.
Summer's coming up - eager to take it outside again, because I feel the need to push it a little more?...@WRM already told us all about the virtues of his Rumble 500 head + twin Rumble 410's and that they were the LOUDest rig he had ever owned. It is a beautiful thing.
Crank the high mids, and keep everything else around noon. I'm thinkin' you'd cut thru a glacier!

This is what I do. I will adjust my volume and tone to anyone's liking, but my rig is my rig.
I know I'll get heat for not searching the forum, but I was in my local shop today, and saw the Fender Bassman 500 head. What are your thoughts on that vs. the Rumble 500? I already have a 500 Combo, a 500 head, a 210 cab & a 115 cab. Just wondered what people thought about the hybrid 500 head.
I'm told the output stage and platform is identical in both. The pre-amp tubes are the big difference. Apparently it goes like a train. I'd love to try one.I know I'll get heat for not searching the forum, but I was in my local shop today, and saw the Fender Bassman 500 head. What are your thoughts on that vs. the Rumble 500? The Bassman 500 is the love child of a Super Bassman front end with a Rumble 500 D-Class power section. I played one on top of a Bassman Pro 115 Neo cabinet, and it was killer! $800 for the head. $650 for the cab x2. Still a damned respectable rig for $2,100 and a visually impressive stack to boot.I know I'll get heat for not searching the forum, but I was in my local shop today, and saw the Fender Bassman 500 head. Yeah, but my 100's preamp is connected to a 1000W power amp that drives more cabs.
I didn't realize or think about needing more '''ump'' outside because the r200c with 210 ext cab was plenty inside all of our shows, but outside was a different story.Oh yes the 100 watt sunn tube amp would probably be equal to 500 s.s watts these days.yeah, I don't do outdoors atm... I may tho, We're talking about playing for some of the veteran activities here in SoCal. We will play for free, maybe have a tip jar, but our expenses should be deductible at least. I did play outside(on a Navy ship back in the day) with a 100 watt Sunn tube amp and a 2x15 tuck n roll Plush cab that worked well in the middle of the Pacific!
