Ok, bear with me here while I spitball ideas.
I've got the R40, and I love it. Use it everyday to practice. And at least a couple times a week for acoustic jams. I'm selling my 100 because it didn't cut it in band practice. And I purchased a vintage Acoustic head and a cheap peavey 115. Sounds great btw! But the speaker is 8ohm and the amp can handle 2ohm load.
I was wondering if I could do the mod
@eric_B did to his 100 to my 40. I have an 8ohm 200w eminence I would stick in there. Allowing me to use it as a second cab to my 115.
My question is, if I didn't plan to use the amp seperate, could I just put a speaker jack in the back and leave the speaker wired to amp and jack? I would only be using the amp either as combo or as a cab(with no power to amp) or would this cause issues? I'm not keen on having the external loop when I want to use it just as a combo.
My only reason for this would be to pull more load from my amp and give me an extra speaker. And possibly be able to use just the 10" speaker if I wanted a smaller setup at times. I know it'd be best to just buy another cab, but I already have the amp and the extra speaker. And who doesn't like to tinker right?
