Fender Rumble Club

Thanks everyone for the promotion! I guess owning F.M.I.C. is a lot better than being an uncompensated non-employee, but hey, I did get non-employee of the year! :hyper: I did not get a preferred parking spot. My non-pay was doubled from Zero to 2 x 0! ;)
You got a non-employee raise??? How come I didn't? Maybe I should buy some more Fender Gear.
I did skip buying any Fender Gear for almost 3 months. They called to ask if I was okay.

I am kinda sorta dealing with the same thing. But at least he is getting a lil better..
On another note, I hit the like button because I liked the fact that your amp stayed right with the geetar player.. but didn't like the fact that he was so dang loud..
The 500c can do better than keep up. I had the gain at 10:00 and the master just below that, vintage button on, drive off and EQ flat all the way across. Still some head room there:thumbsup:. I made a point not to turn up, didn't want to encourage him. With the amp just behind me on the floor, it was projecting out from under me, so even though I didn't always hear myself over the guitar, everybody else said they could. That guy was just way to loud for the room.
Just a shame too, because the drummer was pretty good, he actually followed me to keep the groove, best I've locked in with a drummer in some time.

Hope you get your guitar player under control, if I where going to continue playing with those guys, I'd try some recordings to show how loud he is compared to everybody else.

I did skip buying any Fender Gear for almost 3 months. They called to ask if I was okay.

I got awakened by paramedics pounding on my door hollering, "Guitar Center called and said there might be a dead person here!"

I'm just waiting for the Memorial Day 15%-off coupon... :D

Will the Rumble 500c qualify for the sale? Is it a while supplies last kind of thing?

Used or new?

New.
Guitar Center has a few major sales every year. Look for them around Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Christmas. Among many marked-down items, they usually have a 15%-off coupon for any one non-sale item. There are some exceptions (Fender Custom Shop gear comes to mind) but a regular new v3 Rumble 500 combo should be good for $90.00 off the regular $599.99 price ($509.99 + tax.)

You should at least be on their mailing list to make sure you get wind of the sale.

It's supposed to be for one item only, but around Christmas I used the coupon that was mailed to me as part of the USPS-mailed sale booklet AND a few days later I used the coupon I printed out from the email they sent me. Nobody even batted an eyelash. I bought the 200 combo and the 115 cabinet about a month apart and got the 15% off each.

I am up front with the store managers: I tell them I NEVER buy stuff over $100 unless it's on sale. They are OK with that. I told the manager at my local GC that I was waiting to buy a Bassman 500 hybrid head until I got the 15%-off coupon. He said, "OK. Our next big sales event is Memorial Day. See ya then!" I get the feeling that if you told the manager that it was your intention to buy at 15%-off during the sale, they have enough discretion to mark it down 15% any day, if you ask politely. I know that there is a dedicated function on their POS software for "Manager's Discount" or something of that nature.

I got an inexpensive kick back stand so the sound doesn't blow past me under my knees. It serves a couple of purposes. I can point it up where I can hear it and it decouples the amp from the stage.

I could have brought my 1-12 cab to get it up off the floor and give him the full 500 watts, but it was just a meet and greet to see if there was any potential. I also have a foam pad for decoupling.

I keep thinking I want either a 1x15 or a 2x10, but I can't justify it because it is plenty load as is. Should I need more, I can always go FOH. (But it would look so cool) (But I don't want to spend the money).
