I read about it. The question is, is it worth upgrading just for the improvement in the delta comp?

No, I don't think so. The reason to upgrade would be the new front end with; gain, new overdrive, and Vintage voicings. Also the new cabinet simulation circuitry in the XLR out. The 500 is much more tube like by design.
I happen to like the 350 for it's quick clean transient response. Plus the overdrive is more like a pedal and is blendable. So no, I'm not giving up my 350 unless I just sell my gig-rig entirely.

Hoping someone can help me out here - I just put a deposit down on the Fender Rumble 500 combo (now I have to wait for it to show up - at least another week ) but my question is in regards to using a Yorkville BM 400 as an extension cabinet. The Yorkville is my current rig I gig with - just wondering for the venues where an extension speaker would be suggested when using the Rumble would the Yorkville work? I have tried to wrap my head around the whole ohms discussion / requirements but it's not that much clearer. Hoping some one here has some info.
The minimum impedance is 4 ohms. The speaker inside is 8 ohms. A perfect match would be another 8 ohm speaker( rated for 100 watts at least) and you will get the full power of the amp.

According to the specs from Yorkville on the BM400- Internal Speaker Impedance is 8 , Minimum Amp Impedance is 4 . So just to clarify I would be fine to hook this up as an extension cab to the Rumble to get the full 500 watts with no fear of damaging anything?
No, not without a serious modification. You can however use both combos by going from the effects out of the Rumble to the effects in on your Yorkville.

You would use one preamp to drive both power amps. I do this with my Carvin MB10 and 115MBE and my Rumble 200c combo. They both have effects loops. I can go either way, but I prefer the Rumble sending to the Carvin with the Carvin driving both Carvin speakers and the Rumble driving its own. It's a powerful setup either way. Basically 450 watts into a 1x10 and 2x15 w/ optional tweeters in the combos.
AND, since I'm keeping the Rumble 350 head. I could run it into the Carvin 115MBE and have 800 watts! I am liking the versatility of my setup!!

@Scott Truesdell had an excellent series of posts about how to do this + graphics, but I cannot find it. Essentially what you are doing is using both combos linked together by the FX loops. Each combo is using it's own power.If I were to do as you suggest what would be the expected output?

This is an undocumented feature of the Rumbles.
It is an explicitly documented feature of the Bassman line.
In fact, the Bassmans label the effects loop differently to underscore that particular feature.
Mo' power + no mods + no warranty violations = double Rumble goodness!

Audition for a system of a down tribute:
A while back someone asked if a 200 combo and 115 cab would be enough for a metalcore band, and someone said no, get the 500. Well my experience tonight says it could.
Going against one of them newfangled line6 Firehawk 1500 combos and a hard hitting drummer, I still had to keep the master about 8 o'clock. Without an extension. Using an ibanez sr500 tuned drop c. Towards the end I plugged into the acoustic b115 cab that was in the room. I had plenty of power to spare and the low notes had authoratah!
With a better cab I can only imagine.
I think I have a shot, I got 7 songs down in 2 few hr headphone sessions, and showed that I learn fast on the spot too. They let me stay till the end of their time at the studio. They have 2 more guys to check out next week, so you never know...
It will be what it will be.
Still happy with the rumble 200, makes the loss of my swr rig less painful.
